After 12 years of living in Europe, I will finally be returning to the USA. As of early February, I will be based in Estero, FL (just south of Ft Myers). I am really looking forward to meeting local models and photographers and starting some new projects. If you are in Central or South Florida and would like to work with me, please get in touch with me here on MM or through my website.

First of all, I am pretty laid back and easy to work with. I am not looking for drama and I don't want to cause any. I am passionate about creating bold, edgy, beautiful images. I have several interests, including Sculptural Figure Nudes, Alt/Fetish Fashion and Sensual Erotica (Erotica≠Porn).
My work has been awarded and published, but I am not pretentious or egotistic. I value the contributions of the models I collaborate with and strive to produce the best results from their efforts.

I was born and raised in Ohio, and from age 10 lived near the shores of Lake Erie less than an hour's drive west of Cleveland. My youth was spent swimming in the lake and running around the forests near my grandparent's house. After high school, I studied fine art and majored in graphic design. Although I had always been curious about photography, my love of typography, grids and page layout prevailed and I moved to Chicago after graduation to start my career as a designer.
I was a pretty good designer and was always interested in the latest developments in computer technology. I received a bootleg copy of Photoshop when it was still in BETA in late 1990 and I used that software to win $5000 in a poster design contest. From there, I became increasingly interested in working with digital images and started doing a lot of retouching and compositing using scanned images.
Ultimately, I became the in-house creative director for a corporate media lab, made lot's of money, eventually moved to Switzerland and took a job as CD for an online design agency. After two years, I quit and started shooting with my first DSLR. Within a few months, I became the Photography Director and Lead Photographer of a Zurich-based travel and lifestyle magazine.
After that I won a lot of awards for my dance photography and then some really big companies hired me to take pictures of really expensive machinery and this took me around the world several times.
Now I am moving back to the USA (Ft. Myers, Fla.) and starting all over. I am looking forward to expanding my work with models and want to explore alternative fashion and lifestyle photography for editorial use. I am looking to collaborate with models, make-up artists, hair stylists, clothing designers, production assistants and anyone else interested in doing solid, creative and cutting edge work.

Three days before my first birthday, I had an accident that left me with third degree burns on my shoulders, face, neck and scalp. Throughout my childhood I was constantly ridiculed by other kids because of my scars. Even those I trusted and thought were my friends would eventually betray my trust, and being the subject of constant ridicule and teasing left it's mark. As a result, I became very introverted and shy. It also didn't help that along the way, I had some mentally and physically abusive adults in my life, namely my father and my step-father.
As I grew older, my scars became less noticeable and I soon realized that being different was not always a bad thing. However, my childhood experiences left a mark on me and at times I suffered my insecurities and self doubts. Eventually, photography became a way for me to help myself repair those scars.
Initially, when I started in photography, my interest was the human form in the context of the performance of a dancer or capturing images of the body in sculptural forms. This interest then gave way to working with models to investigate other topics in exploration and experimentation - fashion, fetish, glamour, and ultimately, erotic photography.
Eventually, I came to where I am now, focusing on the two main topics of Intimate Beauty and Natural Eroticism. These two topics compliment each other very nicely and have been the basis of my work for the past few years. While I am focusing on these interests, I am also still open and interested in many styles and genres of photography, so don't write me off because you think I have a single-minded focus.
I also understand that many models can be put off by the words 'intimacy' and 'eroticism'. In creating my images, I look to find a comfort zone with my models, a place where they can relax and be themselves and feel free to do whatever comes naturally for them. It's not my aim to push boundaries or to go beyond personal limits in order to capture the images I want -- clearly the model must be able to trust me and to know that I am not going to betray her trust.
By building this trust I am reclaiming and removing my fears about betrayal from my past. So far, it comes and goes and I never know if I am getting closer or further to some clarity in this, however, what will remain are my images. Those images are proof that these moments existed, that time was spent in a positive and constructive way, to create something special, to recapture a difficult memory and turn it into something positive and constructive.
If you are a model and you want to join me on this journey, I invite you to get in touch. I do not have special requirements, you do not have to fit a type and I will never judge you based on your measurements. I am interested in you and helping to express your personality and soul in a beautiful and meaningful way. Nudity is not required either.
