Businessman first and foremost, amateur photographer second.
I am interested in photography as an art form. Like sculpture, the perfect model for the piece means everything. Much more like movie-making, and very unlike sculpture, the model becomes an actress, a collaborator, a contributor to the final result. I love that.
I enjoy photographing people in nature settings with natural light most of all. I'm not especially interested in the glam stuff. I am interested in working with natural beauty, and almost all women (people for that matter, and especially children) are beautiful naturally if you have the eye for it. I know this is outside the MM scope, but I really love photographing children. They will play for hours, following their own lead and spirit, and rarely over-interact with the camera. Can you do that?
Why I love photography:
-> I get to do challenging work with interesting (and sometimes challenging) people
-> I get to work with technology I love (the camera, the computer)
-> I get enormous satisfaction from the finished product capturing something special about the subject
-> It has nothing to do with enterprise databases and related IT infrastructure. I get enough of that at work.

thats cool though. you do that from ottawa then?? i'm in ottawa for the summer on a co-op at revenue canada's service desk...then in september its back to petawawa to finish school. if i'm lucky this co-op turns into a job. fingers crossed!
