With so much talent here on MM, I appreciate you taking a moment to stop by my port. This would be a great time to write something witty or insightful but that’s nearly impossible when people are watching. And who even reads more than the first paragraph so is it even worth the energy? Even the shortest bio would have to include that I am an amateur photographer living in San Diego meaning that I have a day job (not related to photography) to pay the bills. I'm available to shoot Friday through Sunday and some evenings.
After a decade of shooting 35mm slide film, I completely converted to shooting digital photos in the summer of 2005 and I haven't looked back. Like Cortez burning his ships when he reached the New World, I gave away my film camera (but not my lenses because that would be stupid). Wondering about my academic credentials? I went to the School of Hard Knocks with a minor in Fear Management.
I am interested in expanding my range and meeting new people. I try to avoid labels and being labeled. I'm done some mild, working on more wild. I see myself heading more toward the artistic side rather than the commercial. I don't promise to get you signed by an agency or in a specific magazine. I do this for the journey of creating something beautiful and I'm happy to take friends along with me. I am drawn to people who are flexible, confident and creative.
I'm not looking to make money doing this. In that sense, my business plan is right on track but it also limits how often I can shoot. Trade arrangements are a possibility so long as we have similar interests. I always have several projects under development, in search of the right people and circumstances so it doesn’t hurt to ask about availability. In every case, I’m considerate, polite and easy-going. I hope that there is room for those qualities in this field because that’s “how I roll”. All emails will get a response.
I would like to take a moment to thank the models and makeup artists who have contributed their time and talent to make my photographs possible.
My goal is to create a personal collection of photos worthy of viewing over and over. I believe when you merge risk and honesty, you get an inherently emotional photo. The photo should say as much about the photographer as it does about the subject.
