Portuguese Photographer Antonio Rodriguez, raised in the U.S. just outside of New York City, attended photography school in the early 1980's and received his degree in 1982. In the late 1970's and early 1980's he modeled on the runways of New York City paying his way through photography school. Working as a photojournalist for the military he was stationed in Germany, learning the German language and getting to know the people. It was at this time that Antonio decided that he wanted to live and work in Europe.
After surviving cancer, in the late 1980's which ended his modeling career, he worked as a freelance photographer, with a studio and developing facilities for black and white photography. In the mid 1990's he began developing solutions for imaging on the Internet and working in E-Commerce in the fashion industry.
Photographing fashion models in Europe on the runways of Milano, Paris and various other European cities, and doing photo-shoots in Nice, France, Venice, Italy and even on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Antonio has a portfolio with widely varied styles. Working with the skater/hip-hop company Pelle Pelle on their 2003-2006 campaigns, life size photo images have been distributed all over Europe promoting their products via Antonio's photography. Additionally, doing test-shoots for model newcomers in Germany, has allowed him freedom of style to shoot each model individually based on the model's looks, posture and individual fashion sense, naturally with a bit of assistance from Antonio and his team.
Antonio is constantly on the look-out for new faces, new talent and potential models who present themselves via the website. Some applicants are given the change to participate in a TFP/TFCD or test-shooting which usually consists of the model going to a selected location where photos are taken of the applicant in outdoor or studio settings (depending on time of year) and then the applicant can put together his first model-book, which is required of all new and seasoned models to present themselves to agencies and potential clients.
Newcomer models, are given tips by Antonio at their first photo-session, and are taught to move, pose and be aware of themselves while in front of the camera. When they have completed their test-session they are ready to face the agencies and photographers in the world of modeling...
Antonio is now located in Berlin, Germany.
