The final result of everything I attempt to achieve is almost always unreachable, as it always should be, as it always will be. More about me - Haven't had enough yet?(updated 02.06.09)
Some of you may know me as a singer, songwriter, music producer, teacher, graphic artist, and/or web designer. But just as music, art, and design envelop a large part of my life, photography has also been a hobby of mine. So for the purpose of this site, I am attempting to take on the title of photographer, and I'm here to try it out to see how far it can take me. I have been shooting models for approximately 1 year so I am still somewhat new to this. I am completely self taught with maybe a few secrets I have modified here and there from a select few professionals I've come across along the way. I both appreciate and admire those who can use simple lighting to make complex looking pictures and use complex lighting to make simple looking pictures. I am in a constant state of learning, so the more I shoot, the more I try to improve. I also have a willingness to share what I've learned with other like-minded individuals. As you can see, I don't like to be stuck shooting just one style. So I do a bit of everything while still being open to reinvention.
Facts About Me You May (Or May Not) Find Interesting
- I am the first photographer on Model Mayhem named Ronnie.
- I joined Model Mayhem in October 2005.
- I didn't start adding photos until November 2007.
- I have had chronic fatigue syndrome for the past 4 years. But don't worry. When I'm shooting, I will outlast any model or photographer.
- I don't use myspace.
- I am colorblind. I can't see shades of red, green, or brown. I've recently found out that I can't see variations of purple.
- I am practically blind without my contacts or glasses.
- I don't use the 'industry standard' Adobe Photoshop for editing.
- I use a Canon Rebel. I know, it's a non-professional digital camera. But I make it work for me.
- I use the 18-55mm kit lens often.
- I use $10 flashes purchased off eBay.
- In 9 months of shooting models, I've broken 4 flashes, 3 lenses, and 4 cameras. I will do just about anything to get "the shot"! I'm a bit of a rockstar when it comes to shooting.
- I can say 'toy boat' three times fast.
