I am never that good at these because I feel that they always come across as a bit pretentious. So I will do my best not to do that... Feel free to let me know if I've failed.

While I've always dabbled in portraiture, most of my professional photography/videography experience has been in covering events and working with products (read: extremely difficult to light products). The benefit of those backgrounds is that I am pretty spot on at capturing the right moment and my lighting skills aren't too shabby. I honestly nerd out a bit over the interaction between lights and shadows on anything from an object, to a person, to a landscape, so I try to bring these things to my portraiture to make creative lighting and beautiful photos.

I am always looking for models interested in more "typical" portraits (studio or outside), but also anyone wanting to do more creative or surreal photographs. Body study/Nudes are also big interests to me as these are basically the ultimate lighting experiment. I've heard it said "if you can beautifully light a nude, then you can light anything" and that sits pretty true with me.

One of my favorite parts of portrait photography is the connections that are made and that you learn a bit about the person you are photographing, even if it is yourself. After that, the fun during the process and the awesome photos you created together just get to be an added bonus.
