Vardoulika Digital Design & J. Chunglo Photography is joint venture
that provides the highest quality, most eye catching and, intense
imagery all in one convenient package. Instead of having to find a
separate photographer, retouch artist, and creative artist. You have
all of the above grouped in one photographer.
Many models have had the horror of looking at a photographers portfolio
and seeing amazing imagery only to find out they dont edit their own
photos and there is an extra cost on top if they want the photos edited.
That is the difference here at J.Chunglo Photography and Vardoulika Digital
Design is that what you see is what you get! An all inclusive service for
a very reasonable price.
MODELING 101
1. show up.
2. do something.
I cannot reiterate how important the first step is. This is the foundation of your reputation and will make or break you as a model. Once you have that down, then you can work on doing something in front of the camera. Just standing there is a good start. Keep moving! We need to see signs of life in the images!
!!!BONUS!!!
*be relaxed
*play with your wardrobe
*pucker your lips
*put your hands on your hips and push your shoulders forward
*chew your nails, play with your hair
*have a staring contest with the camera
Be sure to practice!
I am willing to do limited TFP/TFCD work under the following guidelines and is completely up to my own desecration...
~You are listed in my "Models I want to work with" list.
~You fit the roll for a project Im wanting to do.*
~By working together will have a direct result in networking to paid gigs.
**Important Note on Trade**
Do not ask me to do TFP/TFCD and then expect me to drive 50+miles to get to you. If you are wanting to do TFP/TFCD you either need to be willing to come to me or if you cant(I.E. you dont drive) then at least be willing to compensate me for gas to come to you.
****RATES****
So...the infamous subject of rates has arrived!(DUN DUN DUN)
My rates are as follows:
First of all:
I require a 50% deposit for all shoots!
That goes without question... If I schedule you for a shoot and I arrange for a hairstylist and makeup artist and you don't show up that means that the hairstylist, make-up artist, and myself all just blocked off time in our schedules and time that we could have used towards many other things or possibly even another shoot with a model that would have shown up for no reason. So for this reason a 50% deposit is required at least 1 month prior to shooting. I do have Paypal so if you are a model that is traveling and looking to book time in advance you can wire the deposit to me that way for your convenience.
Time is precious and you should value your time as well.
The other 50% of the money will be due at the time of shooting.
BEST:
For $300 you will get a two hour studio block shooting session, also full hair and makeup will be provided by one of my professional hair and makeup artists done for one style/look . I will email you with a proofsheet of the photos from the shoot so you can pick out your top 5 photos that you would like edited. I will also do an additional Photographers Choice edit giving you 6 total edits in all. After which I will then email you with both Low and High Resolution versions of the photos for your digital portfolio. Also you will receive physical 8x10 prints of each of the edited images for you to use for a physical portfolio. If you want additional photos edited as well because you have more than 5 that you really like then I will do additional edits at $20 per edit. If you want additional hair and make up done for multiple looks over the one style included they will be at a reduced rate of only $50 per additional look.
Great:
If the above package is a little out of the budget we can drop the hair and makeup if you can do your own hair and makeup and the cost then will only be $250 for everything listed above but minus the hair and makeup.
Good:
The next package which is the lowest one is at only $225 that covers for the 2 hour shoot time and the digital copies of the edited images but no hair and makeup provided and no physical prints of the images, only the digital copies.
Typically Im free on Fridays and Saturdays other days of the week vary but am usually free after 8pm. When you want to book your shoot let me know what day works for you. If we are doing hair and makeup I will confirm with one of my hair and makeup artists for the date and once I can do that I request a 50% deposit up front to lock in your date.
****Conditions under which I pay you(the model)****
First of all take this scenario into consideration. If you went to a photo studio and said "I would like you to take photos of my family, I also want you to edit them so that we look pretty and hide all of our imperfections and I also want copies of all these photos so that I can show them off to my friends and I expect them to be done ASAP...oh and one last thing I expect you to pay me to take our photos because well we are awesome"...Well I'm sorry you might be awesome but the pictures are of you not of me, If you walked into a studio and demanded this you would be laughed right back out of the studio.
When 70% of the general public look at a photo they see YOU not the photographer. Then 10% say wow that is an amazing photograph. Then 10% will say that looks great who took that photo?!?!. Then 5% might actually search out who the photographer is and the last 5% are the ones that might actually try to plan to get photos of themselves taken by said photographer. So even though an idea you might have might be great for my port, and you have an amazing look the end pay off for myself is very minimal for me to consider paying you to take your photo.
HOWEVER....If I am being paid for a shoot by something such as a magazine, record label, privately owned business, event, etc.... And I need a model for this shoot and you fit the look I am looking for then I will pay you a percentage of what I make from it. If you can do your own hair and makeup your percentage will be higher (DO NOT SAY YOU CAN AND THEN DO A CRAP JOB), if you need hair and makeup done then obviously it will be less because I have to pay my MUA and Hair Stylist as well.
A little about myself... Well this is always a tough question to answer really. My name is Jonathan Chunglo, I am also known under the pen name of Vardoulika (Vahr-dool-ick-ah).
How I got started? Well I originally started doing Digital Art Design about 13 or 14 years ago. I just wanted to do the album artwork for the past bands I was in so that we could have professional looking packaging on a DIY budget. After doing this for awhile one day I started editing photos for some of the models that I adored and admired that were in the alternative/goth/fetish modeling scene. This in turn developed into a desire to do the full production start to finish and become a photographer. And here we are today, it has been quite the journey and I have loved every second of it and cant wait to keep refining and developing and perfecting my craft as a Photographer and an Artist.
Thank you to everyone that stops by and takes a look around, your opinion and your critique are greatly appreciated and not taken for granted.
Truly Yours,
Jonathan Andrew Chunglo
