About Me

Todd Debreceni and his company BaPoFX is dedicated to fostering the education & artistry of Special Makeup Effects around the world.

Todd has worked in film, television and theatre for over 30 years.  Before starting his own small effects shop in Colorado, he did work for TBS, 20th Century-Fox Television, Warner Bros., Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Television Animation. Todd is a past recipient of a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and two Denver Post Ovation Awards for Special Accomplishment in Makeup Effects. 

Todd’s book 'Special Makeup Effects for Stage and Screen' (Focal Press, 2008) is being hailed in the industry as the ‘Bible’ for special makeup effects artists.  He has created a variety of makeup, effects and special effects props for numerous stage productions including 'Bat Boy the Musical,' 'Sleuth,' 'Beauty and the Beast,' 'Man of La Mancha' and 'Steel Magnolias,' as well as the makeup effects design for the feature films 'Ink' and 'The Enemy God.' 

BaPoFX is a small full service MUFX studio offering design, creation and application of makeup effects, including international classes, workshops and seminars.
