I just wanted to take some time and introduce myself, my name is Mike Miller and I’m the owner and chief photographer of P3-Photography. I originally founded the business in April of 2001 in San Antonio, TX and recently moved it to Tyler (Bullard) TX. Okay, I may be new to the area, but I’m not new to photography. In 1988 I landed my first photography job working in an “Old Time Photography Studio”. In a matter of speaking I cut my teeth on an (8x10) large format film camera, you know the kind, where you have to put our head under the cloth hood and adjust the bellows to focus the camera. Oh yeah, when you looked at the view finder everything is upside-down, Talk about learning compensation and depth of field. Next, I really thought I had made it big time, because landed a job shooting for Olan Mills. The image quality was fantastic, but what a boring job, there was no room for creativity you were forced to use their poses their lighting setup their camera angles; it was like robotic photography. About that time in the early 90’s Glamour Shots opened their doors and I went to work for them. That was a fun job because; they allowed the photographer some artistic flexibility. I stayed with them for a couple of years and then I almost got completely out of photography. I like to call it a creative break, because when the image quality of digital cameras a viable option for print photography, well I jumped head first into it and I haven’t looked back. Well, for the past 5 years I’ve worked as a sub-contractor to “Lander’s Photography” and “Affordable Wedding Photography” plus working on my own projects, i.e catalog, portfolios for up and coming models, and an occasional wedding. Now that I’m in Oklahoma, I really look forward to meeting and working with local models.
