I am an artist based in the Seattle area. While photography is not my day job (I'm an animator), it is a serious passion of mine and something that I actively work towards improving constantly. I've spent years photographing anything and anyone around me, but I'm beginning to narrow my focus more towards creative portraiture (in addition to my normal event/documentary photography).
I love dynamic and energetic imagery. I like to capture movement and motion as well as create it. The more active my subjects are, the better.
At the same time, I also truly enjoy creating interesting yet "simple" portraits. I try to find that certain "something" in my subjects and do my best to highlight it in a photo. It could something as straightforward as the eyes or a smile or something less tangible. I am still working towards perfecting this (will I ever?).
I am presently interested in doing creative work to expand my portfolio and develop my visual style. I am open to collaborating with others on specific ideas and concepts. I can only offer TF gigs at this time.
My work can be seen on my website (
http://www.dannyngan.com) and on my Flickr photostream (
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dn/). There is a mixture of serious work, a few personal projects, and casual snaps, but you can get a sense for what and how I shoot.
General work:
Select pieces for Washington State Tourism.
Product and model photography for game development projects at Amaze Entertainment (where my day-job is).
Event and documentary work (no weddings for me at this time).
