*NOTE: EXTREMELY SELECTIVE TESTING/ TF*
London based freelance fashion photography here to build up my protfiolo really Looking for TFP/CD collaborations with Models, MUA, Stylists etc
Interested in meeting vibrant, bubbly, hard working and focused people/teams. That have a real passion for fashion.
The sort of style of my photography is more aimed at i-D, Dazed and Confused. High end fashion but edgy and definitely firece!!
Photographers who inspire me are:
Corrine Day, Steven Meisel, Emma Summerton, Tim Walker, Karl Largefield, Hedi Slimane and Juergen Teller to name a few.
I'm constantly being inspired by not only photographers but films, art and music as well.
I would describe my shoots as being fun, relax and spontaneous.
I really enjoy shoots were everyone is having fun and its really spontaneous.
I've always thought and believed that if you're restricted by anything may that be technical equipment or visual things e.g make up and styling, then it makes you think outside the box and bit more because you're trying to find solutions for the problems thus you get better photos.
Having said all of that I do have a few ground rules that i take with me on every shoot.
1) I DON'T give out raw/unedited images. NO EXCEPTIONS. I will give everyone involved in the shoot a selection of edited images in both low res and high res.
2) I've had models completely flake out on me like MEGA flake out. E.g. When they don't turn up to a shoot and don't even either call, text or email me they are not coming. Firstly this is rude (in my opinion) and secondly especially if a team is involved you're wasting time of other and letting others down. So if you flake out in a major way with no contact its highly unlikely i would want to work with you again. Having said that if you contact me before hand to let me know you can't make it i'll be more than happy to rearrange the shoot.
3) I get asked this all the time are you going to photoshop that? My answer is usually NO. My belief is that the airbrushed look can be achieved during the actually shoot in terms of good make up and good lighting etc which saves time afterwards in post production. The people that influence me the most photographically all have a sense of rawness, honesty and a sense of being upfront. Also isn't our flaws what makes us unique?
4) Selective testing: I'm very specific with who I test even if I put up a casting call I'm still very specific about who I chose. If you have the certain 'look' for the project thats great welcome aboard. It's very unlikely that if you want to become a page 3 girl or one of those gothy suicide girls or whatever then i will not work with you. If you're gonna give me 100+ frames of OTT pouting, winking or pushing you boobs out so they fill the lens then i guess we wont get on creatively same with guys if all you're going to do is shove you're hand down your pants or be a 'chav rude boi' type of model then again i don't think we'll get on creativity. Its all about EDGE and also about VERSATILITY.
So if you like what you see and don't mind spending a couple hours in front of a camera looking fabulous then you can contact me- message me and i'll get back to you.
I really do appreciate all the lovely comments TAGs and message. I'll try getting back to people as quickly as possible.
Hope to hear from you guys soon!
Raj
