Welcome to the page of M.H. Miller Photography.
I do have more than 20 photos in my portfolio so please select the 'View All' option on the right side of the photo portfolio or visit all the pages in the portfolio.
I am currently taking limited photoshoots due to the time that my other – the bill-paying one – job requiring a large amount of my time. However, that does not mean that I will not shoot. I do require that we talk about a shoot before going and doing a shoot...I want our time to shoot to be one of just shooting and not one of discussing ideas. Idea generation is a pre-shoot topic not a shoot-day topic.
I was the co-owner of Take 5 Studios in Saltillo, Mississippi from spring 2012 to fall 2012. However, due to a myriad of reasons including an increase in workload and financial obligations, I am no longer with the studio and that indoor space is no longer an option for shoots.
I am a 29-year-old male that has a Master’s degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Project Management and an Associate of Arts in Journalism. Prior to returning to school I worked at Mississippi’s ninth largest daily newspaper for six-and-a-half (6 ½) years.
I am versed in contacts throughout the media world, layout and design and website design – but I left that business when I accepted my new career so I only dabble in it now.
I have had the honor of winning numerous Mississippi Press Association awards as well as APME awards including stories I wrote about life in Mississippi.
If you have any questions, I am more than welcome to provide inquisitive persons with answers.
I do require that a model release be signed for each shoot including TFP/TFCD – this covers my own butt and with the new 2257 regulations in effect, a copy of driver’s license to prove a model's age for records might be require depending on the photos that are taken.
If you are in the area, please feel free to tell me and we will see if we can set up a shoot.
I have only one rule about escorts at my shoots. They may not be husband, boyfriend, fiance' or significant other (i.e. live-in male friend or so forth). I have found that allowing this only distract from a shoot and there is nothing worse than a strong-willed guy on a shoot that thinks he knows best and tries to make a model do something she is not comfortable with. Plus there is a whole jealousy issue that has to be dealt with that is why I will allow escorts but they must follow the previously stated rule. So, if you want to bring someone to a shoot to help with hair and make-up, your best 'girlfriend' would be a better choice...I have found that these friends do not have a jealousy streak like the male persuasion does.
Please feel free to contact me and we will try to work something out on possible shoots and other inquiries that you may have.
I require the initial contact to be made through here so I can screen out the scams and that way I do not end up on some email list that I do not need to be on.
Currently, I am one of two photographers listed on The List in the Model Mayhem forums that will devote time to newbie models in Mississippi.
I am also listed on the 2nd Photographer list in the Model Mayhem Forums that will devote time to models in Mississippi
