I'm Ryo
(pronounced Ree-yuh):
Who am I: Emerging fashion designer, creative director, editor and stylist from Kingston.
As a stylist, I prefer to do so for fashion editorials be it online or print. I like telling stories through my work therefore, I focus a lot on characterization, mood, themes and trends. A good editorial for me is one that is well planned, has a central theme and results in some strong images. I'm influenced by detail, texture, lines, angles, proportion and shapes and I try as much as possible to reflect this in my work. My trademark is producing work that is rich in detail but remains simple and honest. I dislike anything contrived or pretentious. My other unique style is that I like to juxtapose opposites. Austere tailored pieces matched with loose fluid shapes, modern with classic pieces, masculine with the feminine - a style most persons are unable to achieve but I make it work. My personal style in itself is quite fashionable - a classic sensibility mixed with an urban quirkiness.
Looking for: Models - I prefer girls who are slender built, 5'9" or taller. So right now while I'm building my portfolio and my network of contacts, I'm only interested in working with girls/models who are represented by an agency or look like they can be agency represented. I may however make exceptions for those having a striking face or body (for beauty or parts stories).
Photographers - Photographers with strong fashion knowledge and aesthetic. I am not interested in doing glamour or fetish.
I'm also interested in meeting and NETWORKING with other
*fashion stylists, *fashion agents, makeup artists, retouchers and magazine editors.

Compensation: I'm open to both paid and unpaid work at this time, however creative tests and/or collaborative efforts (TFPs, TFCDs, etc.) will only be considered if they are serious and can prove mutually beneficial.
