I'm a small town girl from the sticks of Kentucky who at an early age fell in LOVE with cosmetics. I have been doing makeup for friends and family for years, and recently decided to take it further. So I moved to Lexington and I have my business Cosmetic Revenge and I also go to school for Esthetics.
I also have a charity I started last year called Beauty Over Bruises. I assist victims of domestic violence through the art of makeup. Teaching them how to use makeup in order to help them go out into the world and get a job as a professional looking woman. You can't even begin to imagine how a little lipstick and mascara can lift the spririts of a woman who hasn't smiled in the mirror in years. My charity also sends cosmetic care packages to domestic violence shelters. Alot of women in an abusve relationship aren't allowed to wear makeup and when they do its to hide the signs of their abuse. Makeup helps women feel beautiful everyday, so I use it to help restore womens sense of beauty that has been stripped away due to abuse. I also do a lot of Awareness images which some of them are on my pics page. If you are interested in my charity just send me an email.
I love the feeling you get when the client looks in the mirror and sees the finished product. I have done makeup for proms, weddings, photoshoots, plays, and as well for bands. I started this site to network and learn from other makeup artists as well as maybe book a gig or too.
I can do pretty much any style of makeup. I am known for rocking out eyes. I love to try new and different things with cosmetics.
In my kit I have nothing but name brand cosmetics. Such as
M.A.C., Stila, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, Chanel, Dior, Bare Minerals, Sheer Coverage, GloMinerals, Clinique, Lancome, Nars,
Too Faced Cosmetics, Makeup Forever Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown, Sephora, Bed Head, and many more. Pretty much you name it I have it. I have spent quite a lot of time and money building up my kit.
I always prefer to get sort of a background on clients I work on. Such as what sort of skin allergens they may have. Many people have an allergy to certian types of brushes such as the ones from bare minerals. Goat Hair and Sable sometimes can cause a reaction that results in a cyst on the skin. Thus I try to get a lil insight from the client as to any history of allergic reactions in order to aviod a breakout. I always hated going to someone and having them do my face only to break out later in spite of properly removing my makeup.
I know the frustrations many women feel about doing makeup.
When I work on a client I always write down a list of what I used and where they can get it along with some makeup tips that will enhance features and cover up any flaws they may have.
My ultimate goal is to one day open up my own Salon/Day Spa here in Kentucky. That will not only offer women a place to come and get pampered, but also offer them a place they can come and learn how to enhance their image and evolve their look over time. No one should be stuck in the same look their entire life and many women are afraid of change and most dont know where to begin. Anyways I hope thats all ya wanted to know.
If there is anything else feel free to drop me a line.
I also sell Beauticontrol. It is a wonderful skin care and cosmetic's line. They don't have some of the vibrant eyeshadows that I like to use in shoots. However their foundation photographs well when properly used. Their skin care line's can't be beat. They are affordable and they work. I used to spend thousands at the Spa's here in Kentucky up until I found Beauticontrol.
It is also a great way for those of us who are in the industry to earn extra income. If you are interested in Beauticontrol please feel free to email me.
