Henry Tjernlund

Photography has always been one of my favorite forms of artistic expression. It merges so many crafts into one. It spans lighting, perspective, theme, posing, and even the fun and experimentation in making some of the prop and wardrobe items used in the images. And as my interests cross over to movie making as well, those same crafts continue to apply. I dabble with sketching, painting, and even some animation as well, but with lesser success, at least in my opinion.

At the present, I do mostly TFCD work. Please don't get me wrong. I would love to be able to pay models for all that they do. But right now I feel the need to place my limited budget into better cameras, lenses (I prefer to have multiple primes rather than a single zoom), lighting gear, new editing and effects software, a larger selection of backgrounds, props, wardrobe items, and so on. In exchange I freely share all the images with the models.

I am located North by Northwest (yes, like in the movie title) of Pittsburgh. Recently I have been working in cooperation with a great photographer Karen (Renaissance Woman Photography) located in Pittsburgh.
