Want to shoot for free?
I occasionally offer TFP when I need a model for a specific project, and from time to time I do straight trade shoots with models for our portfolios. But shooting 'Glam', ie swimsuit and lingerie is rare.
What I'm shooting trade for RIGHT NOW:
- Couples for engagements and weddings
- Models for outdoor casual (like Asha, below)
- Bridal / Weddings
But what if YOU want something else?
So long as we can shoot both in the same day (usually a 5 hour shoot; 2 hours for each, with an hour break to re-set and change) I'm willing to shoot your request if you're willing to shoot mine!
These shoots are ALWAYS on Sunday, preferably with part of the shoot around sunset (a bit easier in the winter!)
This is a bit experimental, so let's see how this works out!
I'm booking shoots for 2010 now; drop me a note here or on my
website with a description of what you're looking for, and we'll work out a package price or TFP terms.
One
important note: TFP shoots will likely have to wait longer than Paid gigs for their shots. I finish editing paid shoots within a week after a shoot, and before the next shoot.

The Fine Print:
Deposits: Shoot packages over $100 require a 50% deposit at booking, fully refundable when cancelled with more than 24 hours notice, or if I must cancel for any reason. Cancellations within 24 hours of the shoot or no-shows forfeit the deposit.
Pay-to-Play: The balance of the session fee is payable at the start of the shoot. Some options, like prints and photobooks can be paid for when ready.
TFP Flakes: I've had to adopt the 1 strike and you're done rule. If you flake on a TFP shoot (that means a no-show or cancellation within 24 hours of the shoot) I won't reschedule it as TFP, and if it was a good enough idea to shoot TFP, I'll probably shoot the idea with another model. Just don't flake, K?
Model Releases: All TFP and client shoots require the models to sign a release; and the release varies according the shoot. If you can't sign, I can't shoot.
TFP shoot releases allow the model to use the images for self-promotion (print and web portfolios, or freely available on the web are all cool), however the image cannot be re-sold (eg posters, calendars, or as pay-only web content). If you want to use an image for sale, the rights are super-affordable, and even FREE in some cases for charity, reciprocal advertising, and the like.
I don't pay models unless I'm doing client work. Models generally will NOT get copies of the images, however if tearsheets are available I'll do my best to get extra copies, or let you know how copies can be obtained.
The AfterExposure Watermark: Past TFP shoots have included the words 'Afterexposure Photography', and often the models preferred name somewhere on the web sized images as a banner to watermark the shot.
Usually only the web-sized shots that were done as pure trade (for our mutual portfolio development) will have this logo; so print sized images, images you've paid for, or work shot as TFP for client work won't normally have it.
Everything in this MM portfolio was shot TFP with some of the best people I've met!
I rotate some of the best I've worked with through my Top 12 list; these folks do great work and I'd work with 'em all again without reservation.
