I am a portrait/figurative artist (I draw/paint) that also happens to enjoy the relatively instant gratification of photography. While my paintings and drawings focus on portraiture and figurative work I tend to photograph anything that catches my eye. That said my goal in working with models is to create artwork expressive of sensuality, emotion, color, light, and the beauty of the female form while enjoying the collaborative process between the model and myself. A more extensive gallery of my work, including my drawings/paintings and non model photography may be viewed here: http://stevef.zenfolio.com/ . Scroll down the page or click on "all my photography" to view the galleries. Please note that my wife is also an accomplished photographic artist and is often available as a second photographer on a shoot. Her work may be viewed here: http://kathyfairchild.zenfolio.com/ .
If you would like to work with me it is best to be direct so please feel free to email me and I will get back with you. Integrity, common courtesy, clear and prompt communication, and a creative nature are always helpful when contacting me about a shoot.
At this point I wish to go over how I typically work with models so there should not be any surprises the day of a shoot. I do this for creative pleasure so I usually only work for trade, preferring to work with those who are motivated and inspired by creativity rather than money. I provide you with edited and web sized images as you see in my portfolio (generally within about a week by email) and while I typically weed out 50 to 75% you should still expect a considerable number. I also occasionally create paintings or drawings using my photos as reference material and if I do I also provide a jpeg of that (or them) as well. Can't do trade but would still like to work with me? Make me a counter offer as I will sometimes make an exception. Before going any further I wish to emphasize a point of clarification on my drawings and paintings. As they are highly finished, realistic in style and scaled close to life size they can take well over 100 hours of my time to complete and so while I do not promise to do one from every shoot it is a possibility. For studio work I set up space in my home where I know and can control the light, typically shooting in the afternoon. Shoots generally take 2 to 3 hours and you are welcome to bring an escort but I would need to know ahead of time. I will also need you to sign a model release.
These days if I send you a friend request it means I either have an interest in working with you or very much respect your work/talent. Other than that I am not really into the whole "friend" thing on here so if you send me one and I don't add you please don't take it personally. If you do send me one though I much prefer a tag or a note to go with it. Not too much to ask is it?
Serious inquiries only please.
