children are wide and open...searching for happiness, nurturing and love...and yet humans who call themselves "adults", are quick to prey upon them and mold them into their books of killer gods and money...and war
i dreamed of stargirl...
but there are many more...
new humans...children and mature...
they choose not to enter the cage...they choose not play the games of disgrace and war...
they prepare for revolution...of peace...to end all wars...to end the rule of kings...their militaries, their systems of control: religion and capitalism...
they prepare for paradise...

i have decided to begin a new emphasis in my photography and in the field of photography in general...
"romantic impressionism"
almost all of my current port, most of my photography to date, is in this style. but now i have begun a separate profile

and then i will be creating a website. then, this coming spring, i will be guiding tours, doing workshops, and then developing studio guest houses to help people understand and practice this.
impressionism is the reality of our existence and the universe...the blending of all things, no separation...the ways of light, especially its infinite color. and romanticism is the expression of emotion and the natural spirit and being of a person and place...i enjoy including the emotion of romantic dreaming...and beauty...even if it might be hard to find.
and thus, this movement also becomes a bit of a revolution away from the hugely popular trends in the photographic and fashion industries, that of the ultra focus, high contrast, huge production with every assortment of tools and assistants on location or in studio, completely oblivious to the natural world and its deep spirit and energies...extreme post production processing. or the hugely popular trend of grunge and edginess- anti-beauty! and the drastic bleakness or chaos of sooo many "art" images. the crumbling and toxic cities are now the soil that humans struggle to survive in...what flowers can bloom in this world?! and so it binds the creative mind as well...deep into a cage.
i say: "step out!". it is easy! walk into the beauty of the earth again! feel its soothing spirit...both model and photographer...or just human...
and share it on photograph...paper or screen...
this movement first will encourage closer examination of life, existence, and how we see it...it is always infinitely inter-connected and deeply blended. and then encourage to at least take some small moment to go out and see the beauty of earth and humanity and their blended spirit...

this current port displays my personal style of romantic impressionism but the focus is less on general photography and much more on my personal visions that ive wanted to achieve...as well as inspirational work for my screenplay.
some of you might think the following description is too long, but it describes who i am and the emphasis of my work here.
i have particular visions and scenes i desire to bring to reality. and the spirit i want to capture has to do partially with the social-economic revolution i am starting. so the description is important for you to understand the general feel and concept of any of my photoshoots. and these concepts are rather in depth. thus the longer explanation
yes, i have practiced condensing it. i can do it in one sentence...to get it started. but i if you think the current social, economic, and environmental crises can be solved by tweeting or texting then id rather not work with you at this time.
of course, images capture a moment...the actual photographic adventure i create with the models is a very enjoyable experience...and despite my serious writings here, we have fun!
on each of my shoots i also try to collaborate with the model to create some images that we have both participated in creating, or that are more of their interest as well.
here is a little more about me...
the first part describes my main desires which are in creating a new social-economic system and also urban design...but then i talk about my photography...
so this first part will seem political and some of you might try to ignore politics or feel this is not the place to discuss it...im not discussing it
just telling you about what i spend most of my time doing and how it relates to my photography here. i want to work with people who can read through the following and have some similar passions about helping to change the current systems...they are not working at all! they are failing miserably...and causing vast amounts of destruction and social ills...i hope you will read on...
i am beginning a revolution!
i have invented a new social-economic system that will enable us to go through the largest transformation in all human history!
we will be able to create millions of paradises for all! all without any money! infinite numbers of styles and designs...expanding throughout the universe eventually!
money doesnt grow on trees but some of the most nutritious food for humans does!
we will end all war! its completely unnecessary! WWII happened because all the kings and presidents, especially the US! focused on isolationism instead of working together to make sure everyone is happy. and the kings and presidents focused on their individual pride and power in their disgraceful quest to find the ultimate weapon and use destructive force to achieve their selfish goals...and they continue on today. remember...the most important lesson of WWII is that hitler and the other kings didnt actually kill anyone! all of their millions of pawns did. look at any video of hitler's speeches and you will find millions of people fanatically devoting their lives to him. same with any modern president who encourages patriotism while at the same time inciting a fever over some monstrous, evil enemy. we are all human...and we are actually all interconnected...
and we all depend on the earth for survival...at least for now...
the ultimate path of friendship and cooperation is infinite and widely varying...
the ultimate path of confrontation and the use of force to achieve...is one man standing...or none...for even if one "group" or gang "wins" the ultimate war...or like the god of the bible destroying all his enemies or non-believers...there will always be someone who thinks differently...thankfully...and yes, ultimately, if people continue to try to use destructive force to achieve...then only one can "win" the fight...maybe...and then he has no-one to mate with...and...
we will end the rule of kings and their disgraceful militaries! but we will do it without violence or killing. that includes presidents, CEOs, and so called think tanks who rule your world...we will reveal all their mass deceptions like the idiot 9/11 event. for those of you who still believe the ridiculous story that was told on that day...go back to your physics classes or even to your experiences of building blocks in kindergarten! buildings cant fall down on themselves! especially high-rise structures designed to withstand hurricane force winds, earth quakes, and collisions with large aircraft! duh. when did your last jenga blocks game have blocks that went straight down at the speed of gravity with massive explosions leading the way! they fall over to the side! and the supporting concrete interior structure wouldnt be pulverized into vast clouds of dust! wake up.
we will end the system of religion while encouraging all people to enjoy their personal beliefs. religions attempt to force people, especially children, into one belief and then establish destructive barriers of righteousness between all people. and for any buddhist...there is no "state of pure consciousness" or nirvana...all things, material and spirit/energy, are infinitely interconnected. enjoy your physical and spiritual being as one!
we will end the system of capitalism...which has only one goal: maximize monetary profit for self. it has no integrated emphasis on respect or caring. and it forces society to give everything a dollar value including humans and love. and who prints the money?! duh! why after at least 6000 years of recorded history are humans still struggling to survive?!! are you kidding me?! and look at all the paradises we've already created! its easy!
but no...the US is still focused on spending even more money and effort creating the most destructive military force of all time! for what? to lose a war against impoverished cavemen?! and to, according to their "story" get invaded by idiot pilots hijacking commercial airliners and crashing them into the most sacred buildings on home soil?! huh?
so, that's me! i began noticing those problems as a little kid and chose not to spend my time learning kung fu or how to shoot a gun...or play the idiot stock market like my dad...i worked on trying to help change the real problems...which are that we are still ruled by kings and their systems are destroying our world and lots of people's lives. ive invented a new system but im smart enough not to become some king like all the rest...this new system encourages everyone to be involved...no single leaders...and create consensus decisions and manage through consensus. and consensus doesnt mean everyone having to conform...it means everyone retains their individuality but respectfully come to a solution working together and sharing their greatest contributions...with the attempt to achieve happiness for everyone.
now, reagan and bush era society is programmed from childhood to be "tough" and "independent" ...and really stupid! so many people deeply engaged in doomsday scenarios either at their churches or on their video screens.
well, im not too much for focusing on destruction...
the system i am initiating will involve everyone in designing their own paradises...
im also an urban designer...designing whole cities, one of the most important things that needs to be done in our future! we will transform the disgrace of current cities, the poverty, the squalor, the toxic environments...and create ecological, healthy beauty!
i will help create many projects that will begin to illustrate the new systems. some will be overlay, experiential projects that will help people practice the ways of respectful consensus decision-making, management, and conflict management...others will be the development of paradise cities and star cities. the star cities will develop the ships and missions to begin colonizing earth orbit, the moon, mars, and beyond! within the next 10-20 years! all without money!
i am writing a screenplay that will display all the potential of the proposed new system in a partially fictional way. it will range from being autobiographical to the near future and then the distant future. some of the new cities will serve as real-life sets for the movie! not just the typical fake hollywood sets that cost millions just to get torn down after production.
some of the main characters are "star children". these are children who recognize the disgrace of violence, especially wars, and wish there was some way to end them. they also understand the deceptions of current social rules concerning nudity, sex, and patriotism. and they understand the need for a new deep respect between people, eachother and their environment. they wish there was a way to end the rule of kings and their systems of religion and capitalism. and they dream of someday traveling the stars! they are peaceful but strong, imaginative and creative, adventurous, and ready for revolution! this same spirit carries through all ages.
i am seeking models to help inspire several of the scenes and provide initial artwork for the screenplay. the main wardrobe will be similar to what can be found in my port, especially the "stargirl" theme. i envision translucent, irridescent materials, lots of jewels and metalics and for some reason I have always liked thigh-high white boots or stockings. I first saw that style in the 60s and 70s with go go boots of course, and all of our drill team girls wore them. I think its because they really accent the legs and seem to add length/height. Since then, especially after living in the desert, ive realized there are many functional possibilities for them. Keeping clothing minimal but guarding against shrubs while hiking. I also prefer white and gold because they represent peace, brightness, and more of a “paradise” theme. but my wardrobe work still could use a lot of work! i need more of the translucent, iridescent type. i would love to add more jewels.
you will notice the name "stargirl palace". this refers to a vision of the millions of "paradise cities" that could be developed, some of them oriented to star travel. "stargirl" and her male companions will travel and stay at many of them. the rooms or spaces in the images here might be very simple. that doesnt bother me...in fact i like the simplicity sometimes. im certainly not dependent on the latest updated "designer" interiors and certainly dont have the money to support their kingly lifestyles. you will notice some of my architectural renderings in some
as for my photographic expertise and style...
i have a very particular style in my photography that has evolved out of many years of experience. In the 80s and 90s I began living in more remote and spectacular places such as the isle of skye in scotland and the lake powell region in arizona and utah. I ran an overland photography tour business for 2 years at lake powell as a step to develop a solar powered guest house and studio. the guest house never became a reality but my time there was some of the most significant in my life...in many ways.
During that time I became expert in photography and eventually had to make choices about my future in photography. i could have made it my career but humans are still doing disgraceful things including destroying and polluting earth's paradises! so i decided to keep photography as a secondary interest.
living in remote and spectacular desert allows you to really experience the "spirit and energy" of the earth. you really get the feeling of being all alone but with a vast perspective of your surroundings including the billions of stars at night...the unlimited universe. it becomes very easy to see that all things are connected. when i would return from personal ventures out into the remote places and then go on to my tours with photographers i became very discouraged. they would come from the cities with all their equipment to try to capture the typical $million photo. they would take countless exposures of the same scene to make sure they caught it. and they also tried to get the finest focus possible. but they were completely removed from the real spirit and beauty of the places. it was terrible and i felt so sorry for them. from that point on, i promised myself to never become over focused on the "tool" and to make sure i put the camera aside for most of my experiences, most of my life.
i have learned that all things in the universe are inter-connected, there is no separation...so attempting to find that ultra focus is really impossible, there is no real focus...all things are blended...and the more equipment you bring, the more separated you become from the reality of the site and experience.
i also knew very easily that i could never allow myself to exist all day in some studio, deep within some city! i feel very sorry for those who have entered into that kind of world. even though, for sure, they have achieved some nice images...think of the worlds they are missing and the spirit and touch...oh well...their choice...or lack of experience...
i have also always admired impressionist painters. they understand the importance of representing that blending of all things and the wonder of the many layers of light and shadow and color...and form.
so, from these experiences and inspiration, i have decided that i dont want to carry extra lighting other than what is on my camera. i dont pursue ultra focus. and i dont need ultra expensive equipment to accomplish what i desire in an image. i rarely shoot in studio although i plan to build a small studio complex that will have dramatic architectural form. ill not be "imprisoned" by it for sure though! i dont mind shooting in hotel rooms or plain indoor locations...they are very much part of our life experience. but i prefer shooting in spectacular locations, either man-made or "natural" which is all relative
i love sunsets and their colors...and, even more sometimes, the afterglow! during those times, you will notice that skin has an amazing glow to it! energy and spirit! its wonderful! so, i also adjust a little more gold or crimson to my images...kind of creating that afterglow.
i have used photoshop as a design and painting tool and love it for that although i still prefer drawing with pencils and pen, and painting with real paint much more. but i really dislike a lot of photoshop editing for photographs. some photoshop work is amazing and the artists and masters at it are very commendable! but i dont like mixing photoshop with photography except for minor edits. and i actually like slight blemishes on humans. but i fully understand some models wanting to have some shots of themselves perfect
i have access to several photoshop masters if you need that from any of my images.
so, overall...
please open some of the photos...they might look very simple and unimportant as thumbnails, but when you look closer they're pretty cool...and they show a certain, sometimes glowing, spirit and energy.
i prefer simple poses for my personal style. i have a vision i always seem to enjoy and you will see that repeated many times. but i also would like to take more time to work with alternative, maybe more dramatic poses if you want.
while most of my "visions" are "paradise", crimson, and beauty oriented...there are many parts of my screenplay and personal spirit that are very melancholy and even somewhat dark and/or gothic. so im interested in doing plenty of that style even though i dont have much of it represented in my port yet.
below, i have included some of my scenic images. i love the beauty of the earth. and at this time our survival is completely dependent on the earth! we must begin preserving most of the rest of it! and we must celebrate it!
