About me
now based in Los Angeles

I am freelance fashion, portrait, and entertainment photographer recently re-located from Texas to downtown Los Angeles. I'm available for all types of projects and seeking new clients.   I'm available to discuss your needs and project goals if you think there may be a good fit.

As far as my personal projects go - I respect everyone's personal point of view and limits, but if you have ethical issues with nudes or think that celebrating the beauty of the female form is "porn" I'll probably have very little interest in talking or working with you.

OPTION 1
My Personal Projects (unpaid) and Client Projects that Pay Us Both

I've made a career out of shooting beautiful women undressing.  I'd rather shoot someone undressing than shoot full nudes.

Undressing usually ends with clothing removed, it's a framework that gives a lot of layers and options and yields a wide variety of images, often with a loose narrative.  ...from intimate portraits to fashion shots to fine art nude at the end.

I call these "content shoots" and they typically  go one of two ways:

1- We are both contracted and compensated by a site or client to produce a set of photographs to their specifications.

2- We shoot a trade shoot on our own.   Most of the work in my portfolio was pulled from these TFC (trade for content) shoots.  Having your own site isn't required but models with member paysites are usually the best candidates for these as we both have an interest in creating strong sets for the sites.

These shoots aren't just about "getting the nudes" this is where most of my body of work comes from and I put everything I have into these shoots.  My recent Bizarre Magazine cover and feature with Mosh was pulled from one of these sets.

Feel free to contact me if you want more information or have an idea.

OPTION 2
DO I HAVE TO GET NAKED?

I am available for hire and my rates are very reasonable - you can call the shots and wear as little or as much as you like.  I shoot men, portraits, clothed catalog work, press shots for bands, and just about any project I think is interesting and a good fit for me.  Feel free to contact me if you have a project or shoot to discuss.

I do not do TFP/TFCD shoots, but I am available for content trade shoots,  paid model portfolio development work, private commissions, and commercial projects..

I still do limited trade shoots (mentioned above) but be advised that they usually involve tasteful nudity and the creation of commercially viable content sets for my sites, gallery, and print work.

"Implied nudes are like implied food."  - Michael Helms

I'm available for one on one tutoring and mentoring in camera use, lighting, and post production (editing/photoshop).  My rates start at $100 an hour (3 hour min), I can make you a deal if you need to book a block of time or plan a curriculum or project - just email me!

I am no longer working with SuicideGirls, though I still shoot content for single girl sites and my own projects.  I am currently unable to hire or shoot current or former SG models for portfolio or client projects.

My magazine and book work often involves fashion or fine art shots with partial nudity - I do very few trade shoots if you contact me saying "I'd love to shoot with you" I will assume you are inquiring about hiring me or doing a content trade shoot.

I'm available for:

+ private commissioned work
+ sets for zivity.com
+ fine art nudes
+ content trade shoots
+ commercial/ad photography
+ catalogue fashion photography
+ model portfolio development/comp cards
+ editorial shoots
+ portrait shoots
+ promotional photography for bands

Thank You!

Philip/LP

I am not doing TFP at this time. My rates are very reasonable, please inquire if you have an interest in shooting with me.  I do limited trade for content shoots, inquire for more information  and availability.

Also - be advised that I shoot nudes.  I also shoot quite a bit of commercial, fashion and editorial work.  I make an investment of my time and energy when I work with new models and I prefer to work with a core group that knows how I work.  I'm not hurting for new talent or models to work with... I give most of my paid client castings to models that I work with, particularly those that shoot nudes for my other projects.  Given the choice of a model I can shoot both with and a model that only does non-nudes I'll usually chose to invest in and support the former.

This is a conversation about commercial viability of the images not my personal desire to get models naked. I've shot over 200 models nude and in various states of becoming nude, this is my job and I'm a professional.  Shooting nudes hasn't ruined Kate Moss's modeling career and it probably won't ruin yours.  I don't consider what I do porn.

My rates are very reasonable if you have an idea or want to dictate the direction of the shoot please feel free to discuss it with me.

Steve Diet Goedde (Photographer) :
"Philip's work harnesses the three components of great photography:
understanding lighting, knowing composition, and bringing out the beauty of
his subjects. I love being able to look through his eyes. He's one of my
favorite photographers out there, period."

Michael Hussar (Painter) :
"Although he uses a camera. Make no mistake about it Philip is a Painter. He paints with Light...  His palette is a prism as rich and painterly as any Goya or Velasquez or Vermeer. Through the vessel that is the Female Landscape, he effortlessly establishes a direct and powerful visual dialogue with the viewer that is both voyeuristic and present."

Chad Michael Ward (Photographer)":
"There's no mistaking an Lithium Picnic image when you see it.  Iconographic in form and perfectly understated in color, Lithium Picnic has carved a very defined niche in modern photography.  With equal parts fashion and fetish and a keen eye for composition, Picnic's work is as powerful and precise as the coming storm.  You've been warned."
