I'm a semi-professional, a hobbyist, an art-directed photographer, who's also done some portrait, glamour, events, and sports. I've collaborated with many models on shoots that have helped us both.
Planned trips for 2012: San Diego. Las Vegas. Washington, D.C. San Antonio. Philadelphia.
I've been paid to photograph portraits and events. I've paid for models in art projects. The money isn't all that important. I have a day job. The final product is what makes my day, or not.
I've been on ModelMayhem quite a while. For a time last year, life took me in a different direction, and I pretty much shut down the portfolio. I've recently restarted it and revamped my portfolio, so you won't see a lot of comments yet.
What I bring to the shoot.
I'll bring concepts and plans, although most of my best work has been spontaneous or from springboarding off the model's look and expression. But I'll have specific goals for the shoot results.
I can shoot in studio or outdoors, although given the choice, I prefer outdoors.
I want the model to feel comfortable and have fun. It shows in the results, and I want to be the type of photographer that the model is comfortable shooting with.
"
Creating with you has always been a pleasure...even in eighteen degree windy winter weather shooting nudes atop a parking garage in deep Colorado cold! You are a gentleman, inspired, and consistently kind. It has been an honor to know you." -
Betcee May, publication and television model.
And since Betcee May brings it up....
Nudity, comfort, and escorts.
I have nudity in some of my work. It's not essential to what I do. I've done many family-friendly shoots with models, too. But a certain level of flesh, done right, is provocative or interesting.
If you want to shoot with me and want to keep it family-friendly, just say so. If you don't mind some nudity but have specific limits, just say so. I tell models that while I like some level of nudity in my work, if they're OK with it, I don't need it to be explicit. But if we go there, the model shouldn't be shy.

...
When it comes to escorts, I work better without other people watching me. But I do realize that models who haven't worked with me can have security concerns. (So can I, for that matter.) So let me know your thoughts about it. I'm not opposed to an escort. I just won't concentrate as well.
"
It's been a privilege working with you. You're SUCH a talented photographer, and are hands down the best at sending edited pics back to me quickly! I think your ideas are brilliant and somehow you never quit coming up with more! Thank you so much for being respectful about my limits, and making me feel extremely comfortable. I would love to have you as my own personal photographer, and just shoot with you every day, it's really been such a pleasure working with you.." -
