I have been on somewhat of a hiatus from my photography for a while now. Searching for a new found creativity and direction... I'm interested in shooting new and interesting things, from new and interesting angles. I'm always trying to come up with creative concepts that step outside the bounds of normalcy. I am always open to colaborating on creative ideas that others have, and am always in search of unique individuals to help me execute my ideas. A sampling of work beyond what I have posted here can be seen at www.flickr.com/photos/jonathanwright
My bio, if you care about that sort of thing:
"I think about what is normally out there, and try to do something opposite to that"
Jonathan Wright began his photography career in '96. An artist at heart all his life, Jonathan has always had a desire to create new and exciting images. He constantly looks at things from a different angle, under a different light, remaking the environment into something people would never expect or imagine with his body of work.
Influenced by classic pin up art and pop surrealism, Jonathan is also a huge fan of modern industrial art and architecture with its clean, crisp design. This manifests in both his photography and his framing. Jonathan melds the modern female aesthetic values with classic traditional pin up and boudoir styles. He is the co-founder of Guerilla Photo Group and the art director of the Albuquerque Press Club.
Raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Wright has an extensive background in both photography and architecture. His masters' degree in architecture gives him a developed eye for form and composition. Jonathan views design as principles that apply to the built environment through structure and form; and to light and how illumination combined with subject creates distinctive photography.
”I am a designer, light is just one of the tools I design with"
