Damani Higgins
Photographer, Creator, Designer, Producer, Director and CEO...
Born in Brooklyn, NY, and lived on Roosevelt Island. Damani has traveled the City so much that he considers all 5 boroughs his back yard! He has worked in the arts; photography, film, and video production, fashion, music and graphic arts industries for most of his life and has worked extensively with some of the greatest talents out of the urban environments within these creative industries.
Since the age of 8 years old Damani has been photographing beside his father, a Staff photographer for the New York Times, on assignment. Fortunate as a youngster to have the opportunity to work in the dark room of the New York Times lab Damani was able to learn from the masters. At 10 years old Damani had his first published photograph on the front page of the New York Times, it was an image of the "Atlantic Antic" Festival in Brooklyn, NY., made while sitting on the shoulders of his father. Inspired, Damani began developing, enlarging and printing his own images at the age of 12.
Damani is incredibly tapped into the creative stream in major urban arenas globally. Recognized by his peers as a leader with a strong creative force, Damani has been an inspiration to many who work with him. Son of artistic parents, Damani's mission from day one has been to encourage and support creative arts and expression. What is unique is his desire to compliment and combine artistic expression with business know-how. His goal is to take the starving-out of the artist.
