-- NOW ENTERING A CLICHE-FREE ZONE. THOSE SEEKING CANDY SPRINKLES ON THE LIPS, DUCT TAPE OR TIM BURTON KNOCKOFFS, WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. I PROMISE --
I'm in my second childhood in photography, having worked for 18 years as a writer and newspaper photographer -- and for a few before that as a freelance commercial photographer and studio owner. In a nutshell, I haven't done anything except write and take photos for the last 20+ years.
Me
I'M FRIEND FRIENDLY. I'm not one of those beleaguered, arrogant boneheads who gets bent out of shape if someone wants to "friend" them. No weird prohibitions against "drive-by" friend requests here. No minimum acceptable level of prior contact, comment requirement or other hoops to dance through. If you like my work, identify with it somehow and want to show it, welcome aboard.

I still do mainstream commercial work, including portrait photography, wedding photography, boudoir photography, photo restoration, publicity and event photography for clients in Toledo and elsewhere in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. I also write and shoot for several publications along the Toledo-Detroit corridor. But I am privileged these days to finally have time to devote to shooting things other than work shot to specs on assignment. In other words, to create art for art's sake. And that's pretty much my whole purpose here.

Since there is no budget involved in most of my work involving models, those sessions are almost exclusively TF*. I may recommend a model to a client when it is appropriate, but note that on paid commercial shoots, the model is compensated by the client.

And since there is no budget I, regrettably, seldom shoot with an MUA or stylist. That said,
I would love to hear from like-minded MUAs or stylists who are willing to work on TF* projects simply for the experience of creating quality images unhampered by the demands of commercial clients or art directors whose idea of creativity is mixing the French Vanilla and Hazelnut creamers at Starbucks.

I'm interested in edgier, erotic, more artistic and unscripted things than assigned work has called for. I try to produce themed, conceptual shots. Life, after all, happens in context, not in front of a pleasant, white backdrop. I'll shoot pretty girls standing around looking pretty only as a last resort. I want something going on that engages the brain as well as the eye. I want people to look at some of my work and worry a little. I want subjects that are bright, reliable, fearless, tireless and capable of bringing ideas to the table.
I try to identify and remain sensitive to my subjects' unique individuality which, I think, is why I have ended up with such variety in my port. Once I find something I like, I avoid it like the plague thereafter. You won't find me passing off an episodic, lapse of creativity as my new "series."
I am totally newbie friendly and am especially receptive to anyone with a dance or theatrical background. If you are just starting out, are further along or simply want to play dress-up, get in touch.

NOTE: I don't do group shoots. If I ever do get the urge to do the same thing with the same people, in the same place, at the top of the hour, year in and year out, I'll hop the assembly line at one of the auto factories.
