Lage Carlson Photograpy

My photography style reflects my fine art background with a BFA from the University of Washington, Seattle and a MS in Conservation of Art on Paper from Buffalo State University, NY. I have honed my skills in meticulous conservation work the Library of Congress where I am a Senior Book Conservator for the past 18 years. So much for milestones, more interesting are the coincidences. While I have been taking photographs and using a chemical dark since a teenager it was not until 1998 when I was given a Swedish Haselblad camera while visiting Sweden that I really fell in love with photography. The gift was a complete surprise and boosted me into taking portraits. I especially like shooting portraits where I attempt to capture the model's personality. In my personal photography I strive for clarity, examining the age old enigmas of love, desire, and memory.

I'd like to see what's new, get some feedback, and possibly hire models and assistance for productions in my studio from Modelmayhem. Long term goal is to have my photography pay my studio in Rio de Janeiro and world travels.
