Welcome to all who visit and have visited my page and much appreciation to all who have commented and listed my work!
It means a lot to mean to know that some of you like what I do especially since I am a fairly new at this. So thank you
I have always had an interest in photography. I took photography in high school but back then was not focused nor committed to the process. I was usually the one being photographed. Through the years that I modeled I was always interested in what the photographer looked for and the techniques they did and would ask a lot of questions but photography was still just a small interest to me.
When my son was born 10 years ago, I bought a really nice film camera and became obsessed with capturing great photos of him that weren't just snapshots. When he stopped wanting his photo taken and broke my camera by accident (I think!), my hobby had stopped once again and it took me awhile to embrace the idea of going digital.
I remember when I got my first digital camera I was so disappointed in the way the pictures looked. Blown out skin tones and not true to life colors that it took me awhile to adjust to the digital world.
It wasn't until about 2 years ago that I started really enjoying my digital camera and the flexibility and the convenience of being able to immediately see what was taken and erase or keep something as desired. I carried it everywhere with me and was always taking pictures at events of my friends and family. Because of that, my best-friend asked me to take photos of her for her music Cd and from those photos other friends saw them and wanted me to shoot them and then their friends saw my work.....and so it goes.
I was extremely fortunate to meet an amazing photographer- G. Gregory Geiger, Mayhem #164003, when I went to one of those modeling/photographer meetings,
I called him in those early days of shooting for all types of advice and he was always patient, helpful and informative.
If it wasn't for him I don't think I would be here doing what I do today. I still call him and each time we talk he motivates me and helps me get to a new level in my work.
I am forever thankful to him.
I am also very lucky and thankful to my friends, muses and models. They continue to believe in me and support me. They are always willing to let me use them to learn. You guys ROCK!
Would just love some honest feedback, tips and support on taking great photos.
I will travel if you are fairly close to The Cape.
I have very affordable rates.
