NOTE TO MODELS: Maybe I'm just an old fuddy-duddy, but before you work with a photographer you don't know, I'd recommend you do a few things:
1. Look hard at their photos. Look for focus, lighting, composition, etc. Does this person know what they're doing?
2. Go to the photographer's web site (not just their MM). Do they have one? If so, what's there? Is it good? Is it the same exact stuff as their MM? If it is, perhaps they don't have much experience.
3. Google the photographer's name. Are they known to the Googlesphere? If they have been working for any length of time, they should have lots of references to them on the web.
4. Add them as a friend on Facebook. You can learn some things about people just watching their wall for a few days.
I'm not trying to make you paranoid, but you should definitely be cautious. What the hell-- be paranoid!
