Shana Schnur is a new face in the world of classic New York fashion photography. Since 2006, Shana has established her freelance photography business while honing her skills at the New York School of Visual Arts. Now, entering her 4th year in the photograph business, Shana brings a fresh approach to the fashion and portrait industry with a unique expression of photographic flair.
Born and raised in New York, Shana was taught photography at a very young age by her grandfather, an established photographer since the late 1930's. She moved from point and shoot to manual film SLR's in her teenage years, developing critical photoimaging skills that would prove invaluable as she entered SVA and began her fashion photo career. Her style has been influenced by Middle Eastern and Asian culture, vintage burlesque dancing, and the conflating styles of both older and modern time periods.
Shana relies on traditional photographic and artistic technique while blending this talent with a multi-faceted approach that emphasizes the strength that each models possess along with the personality, strength and joy each model can express. Shana's techniques allow her to bring out each model's intensity and passion in a way that can transcend the singular dimension of a lens.
A release MUST be signed BEFORE the shoot and I ALWAYS have a makeup artist.
Escorts are allowed as long as they know they are an escort, nothing more, and don't interfere with my shoot.
Models: If I booked you for a shoot and you don't show up or cancel for whatever reason it is, I don't shoot with you again.
