Ahoy. I'm a professional photographer in the Portland area with a background in travel photography, now concentrating on fashion/glamour/commercial work. I'm always interested in working with creative clothing designers, hair stylists, wardrobe stylists, and makeup artists.
I try to keep my photographic styles rather varied, so while I may be interested in doing the occasional classic/traditional stuff, most of my life is neither classic, nor traditional....and I am therefore much more interested in doing artsy/avant garde/edgy/alternative/grungy/other-cliche-words/creative shoots. I'd much prefer to tell a story with a photo, than merely make someone look purty.
I'm here to learn and grow artistically. I'm always up for a challenge, and always eager to try something new or different. Because of this, I'm often trying out different lighting setups, out-of-the-way locations, or odd angles, therefore it may take a little time for me to get everything set up. While I don't have a whole lot of it myself,
patience is a glorious thing...I promise.
I'm now also shooting for Zivity, so if you'd like to make some money by posting sets online, that can be arranged if you've got the right look.
Models, unless you have a truly outstanding portfolio that is full of incredibly special images and poses, please don't ask me to pay you.
If you have been modeling for only 10 minutes and you say on your profile that you only do paid gigs...please do me a favor and gently pull your head out of your butt. Thank you
To "warn" you, I'm relatively young (28), have my fair share of tattoos, gauged ears, and a shaved head, but I swear I'm just a big ol' teddy bear inside. At least I'm easy to spot when meeting the first time!
I'm happily married to a beautiful woman (she's the model in a few of my photos in my port, and is often my assistant on shoots)....I'm not here for dating or to sneak a glimpse of your boob, I'm here to make art. If I ask you about nudes or implieds, please realize that for whatever shoot we're discussing, I apparently think it'll add impact to the shot...not some stupid excuse to get a girl naked.
Feel free to bring a friend/loved one (AKA reflector holder/gear carrier) along to a shoot...but please no overly-protective or crazy-jealous boyfriends/husbands/mothers, or some silly entourage of people joining you.
If your escort will mean you'll be more nervous/reserved/self-conscious for the shoot, then please leave them at home. Also, please have your escort bring a book or something that will keep them entertained. The last thing I'm worried about is whether the escort is "bored."
I do limited TF* work...if you have a look/style that I think will add something to my port, then I'd love to trade work. Otherwise, I'm a very busy guy, so if I can't use you for TF* projects, please don't be offended or upset! That said,
I have very reasonable rates....so please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to work with me.

Please be on time to all shoots, and if anything comes up that necessitates you cancelling, please cancel as early as possible so that I don't have any wasted spaces in my schedule, or miss a rare opportunity to sleep in!
More planning=better shots. Please reply to messages and communicate. I understand things come up and that delays occur, just please don't disappear for the week before the shoot and expect that shoot to turn out perfectly.
Can you pose? I'm taking pictures, you should know how to pose. Don't show up with a blank stare when I give you a general idea of what I'm looking for. You'd be pretty disappointed if I picked up my camera and looked blankly at it as if I've never done this before, right? If you're not confident in your poses, spend some time in front of the mirror, and watch a season or two of America's Next Top Model. Also, do let me know ahead of time, as it'll take a bit longer to shoot if I'm walking you through angles and poses. I'm a fan of big poses, off-balance poses, non-traditional poses, and risky/risque poses....just don't be timid or shy. Sometimes the weirdest poses turn out the best, so please be ready to bring it.
I'll probably ask you to send me pictures of wardrobe. I don't care if it's webcam/camera phone....just make sure I can see what it looks like. Wardrobe can make or break a shoot, so seeing what you'll be bringing is pretty crucial. If you're short on time, toss it on the bed and take a picture, but preferably put on whatever it is that you're proposing to wear, so I can see how it'll fit.
Please bring accessories and jewelry, as this can help change a look from acceptable to special.
Please wear appropriate underwear. If it may be seen in the shoot, please bring something you're okay with the world seeing. If it shouldn't be seen...make sure it's not seen (color/cut/undie-lines)! If we're shooting nudes/implieds/scantily clad, please make sure to not wear tight/elastic underwear/bra/socks/jeans/clothing or we'll have to wait an hour to lose the lines on your skin.
Bring a robe....no need to scare the neighbors in them curazee picture clothes!
If we're shooting somewhere abandoned/woodsy/gnarly, please bring shoes that will be appropriate to get into the location.
Stripper heels are great for pictures, but less perfect for hiking. Carry your pretty shoes, and you can use them once we're set up at the location.
Please don't interpret my bluntness as me being an arrogant jackass (I swear I'm not!)...I'm just trying to be clear on things. If you have any questions about anything, please don't hesitate to ask
