SEXUAL ASSAULT: Whether verbal or physical is still assault and an infringement on the rights of the individual. For many it is a traumatic event that takes time for them to fully realize the extent of what happened.
   Recently I have dealt with several instances where models have contacted me after being assaulted. In one instance the well known model was verbally assaulted at the end of the shoot. These X rated comments continued on her drive home as the photographer texted her. I have personally read these text messages.
   The second instance happened when at the end of the shoot a photographer grabbed the nude crotch of a fairly new model. My self and another model talked her home through the tears.
   In both cases the photographers are well known with impressive work. However that does not give them the right to do what they did. In both cases the models worried about what to do since the photographers are so well known and many models are eager to shoot with them.
   All assault is emotional as well as physical and needs to be dealt with. Many victims never fully recover. Unfortunately in many cases the perpetrator  gets away with it because the victims are too ashamed to file charges.
   After talking with other models about these instances it became sadly clear that some are more concerned that they get to work with a specific photographer and get the pictures than what that photographer has committed against others. If the assailant was a lesser known or poor quality photographer these same models would have no problem turning them away. That is their decision and I will respect their right to make it. However, in my opinion that is to slap the victims and kick them while they are down and then turn and support the very individual that committed the assault.
   Here is my decision: If I know you are aware of these individuals and you choose pictures over victims then I WILL NOT support you and your modeling endeavors. I will stand by the victims and those that support them. I know both of the models personally and know them to be good people not just making up stories.

   I have been around the world and too many times wished I hadn’t forgotten my camera. I have been doing photography for over 25 years. I don’t believe anyone knows everything there is to know about the craft but that we always have more to learn. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things. Even if you fail you still gained the experience and knowledge from it.
   I love to show a dark side in my work but am a true romantic at heart. A bit of hippie, don’t be surprised if you find me barefoot most of the time. I tend to have a laid back attitude until it’s time to shoot.

Models, Please Read:



   If you want to work with me send contact information including phone number and best time to call. Text and email are ok but the spoken word is golden. Be on time, do what you said you would do, stay in touch.
  I have never pushed, cajoled, harassed or in any way had a model do anything or wear less than they were comfortable doing. I believe a woman is beautiful work of art but also a delicate one. Mutual respect and limits must be adhered to at all times by everyone. Many of the models I work with continue to come over just to chat and raid my refrigerator. Some at all hours – Love ya Beth
   NO Escorts in the studio unless agreed to in advance. This includes your friend with the little bag of make-up you call your MUA. They’re not and I know the difference. They can wait in the other room.
   You will have the opportunity to review all the pictures I take while you’re here and can delete anything you don’t approve of. I DO NOT release all the pictures in print or on CD to anyone at anytime. If that is not acceptable then please contact a different photographer.



Trade For? (TF) Shoots:
   TF is TRADE FOR and usually means we are trading for like value. Like value is not me photographing you in your new outfits for 2 to 3 hours and then spending hours reviewing and editing.
   Bring some serious talent to the table if you even want to be considered. Give something I don't already have or that I need. Be creative, daring and willing to accept a challenge. If you ask for TF I will ask what talents you are offering in return.


   This what to expect.
  I Will:
1.    Provide you with a professional experience as long as that is what I am receiving. Act unprofessional and the shoot is over.
2.    Allow you to help review the photos. We only want the best of the best and usually only select 1 - 3 for edit.
3.    Work you hard to bring out the best in you. Bring your game face .
4.    Provide only the edited versions to you on CD for use in your portfolios. They may NOT be used in ad’s, magazines, online magazines or otherwise sold or profited by anyone without a copyright release from me. I am easy going, so if this is what you would like to do call or stop by.
I will NOT:
1.    Provide an MUA or stylist unless we agreed upon that at the start. Bring one or I can contract with one and let you know the cost.
2.    Release all the pictures to anyone at anytime. 
3.    Take inappropriate pictures intentionally.
4.    Touch you inappropriately or make rude, crude or sexual comments.
I expect you to:
1.    Be on time and be prepared. Cancel without good cause, no show or late and we don't shoot and we don't reschedule.
2.    Bring all required ID. If under 18 a parent MUST be with you. An older sibling unless documented as your legal guardian does not qualify.
3.    Stick to the plan. Don’t change your wardrobe, hair style or color without proper advance notification.
4.    Provide your own transportation.
5.    Plan on being here till it’s done. Don’t show up and tell me you only have 2 hours.
6.    Call if you can’t make it due to some unforeseen emergency.

MUA's and Stylist:



   I expect everyone I work with to bring something to the table. Be able to jump in and help out. Be professional and courteous. Don't be afraid to point something out but DO NOT jump in front of the camera just to move a strand of hair. Unless you are another photographer I invited for a workshop please leave your cameras at home.
  I have learned to text and use email regularly but prefer face to face, or at least speaking directly with. The printed word does include inflection and tone. I love to have fun while we work and jokes, smiles and laughter should be a standard part of your kit.
