a shot from our latest shoot (and one that the guitar website wants to use):
so here's the deal...
i must be doing something right because we (my girlfriend/assistant) and i are crazy busy lately. we're being asked to shoot nearly every weekend, and it's leaving very little time for much else. so we're changing our ways. slightly.
first, our newly updated policy:
1. bring a government issued ID with your photo on it with you when you come to shoot with us. a credit card, social security card or birth certificate won't work. it MUST have your picture AND your date of birth. why? one of our goals is to be published, and in order to do that, we need to keep information on file.
1a. if you're a minor, we will not even come close to doing anything even remotely racy, and your parent(s)/guardian(s) must accompany you AND be present in the studio/on location during the shoot. there is no negotiation on this part.
2. while we understand that escorts are there for security, we try to discourage them as much as possible. we've had more than a few instances where escorts were either interrupting or distracting during shoots, and it's not productive. so if you've never shot with us before, i'd ask that you talk with some of the models we've shot with before and you'll find that we are very easy to work with, very relaxed, but most of all, we're safe. if, after doing that, you still feel the need to bring an escort, PLEASE make sure that they're unobtrusive; they'd be more than welcome to hang out in the studio during the shoot.
3. my girlfriend will be present at each and every shoot to help with props, hair, etc... while i, as the photographer, may get close to you physically (to show you a shot), i will NEVER touch you in any way, even to adjust a flyaway hair.
4. my shooting style... lately, i've been doing shoots where we take one photo after another in rapid succession, changing the pose slightly between shots, but that's just not me. i prefer taking my time, setting up the shot, getting the pose just right, then taking a few photos to cover all corners. i like to show the photos as i'm taking them and listening to any feedback (positive or negative). so if you're into the 'shotgun' style of shooting, you may find us to be slower than what you're used to; it may take some time to get everything just right for the perfect shot.
so with that, if you like our work, we'd love to hear from you. let us know what you're thinking theme- and location-wise. we've also got all sorts of ideas ourselves, from the standard fashion/glamour stuff to the racier side of things.
