My name is Rachel. I'm trained to do FX makeup for film and tv, but lately I've been doing a lot more beauty and fashion work and enjoying it quite a bit.

I began designing and executing makeup for the stage in St. Louis, then worked and trained in Los Angeles under the supervision of two Emmy-nominated makeup artists. While in LA I worked in an FX lab and on set. I picked up airbrushing and learned to do makeup for HD.

I'm relatively new to makeup artistry but not to the study of the power of the human face. Before I picked up makeup, I worked in a Cognitive Psychology lab at Washington University in St Louis -- a top research university with one of the most renowned Psychology departments in the world -- where I conducted original research on facial perception and attractiveness.

PLEASE NOTE: As I mentioned, I was trained for HD, so I use a light touch. I use the least amount of product possible to attain the maximum effect. I can do dramatic and I can do it very well, but if you are looking for drag queen makeup, I am not your girl.

UPDATE: I am preparing to go to medical school, so my time is extremely limited. I will only accept projects that pay my full day rate or that I feel will strongly enhance my portfolio.
