My Day Rate is $600.00

HI! smile I am here first and foremost to meet and collaborate with models and other artists in the field and also to find clients and generate business (Make Money.) If this was not my passion and fun, I would not being doing it. Please feel free to contact any of the models I've worked with. (It's the smart thing to do.)

I meet with ALL Clients/Models before we shoot. Both for paid, and trade work. I meet all clients and/or models in a public place to collaborate, go over the concepts, ideas, and to set boundaries as far as poses and nudity (I don't shoot nudes of complete strangers, paid or trade. So please don't ask until our second shoot. Or until I feel comfortable with you, you've brought an escort, and completed the necessary paperwork.) I also sometimes take a couple of pictures during this meeting, just to see how you photograph.

If our personalities click and expectations/boundaries are clear and understood, then we'll set the shoot date. I do not work for, or with anyone I don't click with or don't like, paying or not. And I never bring anyone to my home studio where I shoot unless I have met with them first in a public place. This practice has resulted in greater comfort for me and my clients/models, and better images! While also weeding out the flakes, non-collaboratives, and nut jobs!

My main focus in each shoot, is to capture a models unique personality, and emotions, mainly thru facial expressions. Although I'm only interested in shooting what you want for your port, I still like to exercise my versatility by achieving, and possibly improving upon each models artistic vision. So, needless to say, you will always play a huge part in the creative process.

I'm a fairly busy person, with a schedule that is at times, rather hectic. So I'm selective about trade shoots, and would prefer creative people who are interested in a collaborative process. If this is you, then I WILL make time for you. Please be aware that I do not "chase models" ...And not just for lack of time... So if you'd like to work with me, then it's your responsibility to contact me.

If we are able to work out a day and time to talk concepts, or shoot, then please keep one thing in mind. A healthy ego is usually GREAT in front of the camera, but horribly counterproductive to any truly collaborative artistic experience behind the camera. So bring your game face, but wait till the concept is ironed out, and the camera starts, to put it on.

My turn around time is generally 2 weeks, (depending on my workload) for about 20-40 processed, high resolution photos. I DO NOT hand out CD's with all 300-600 RAW photos from our shoot. Don't get me wrong, you'll have your choice of ANY of the shots we create. But I need to do my work on the images before I make them available for you to retrieve from a password protected gallery on my website. Please be aware that trade shoots will take a back burner to paying clients. Also I know cash is tight right now for a lot of people. So I'm open to trade for things that might be of use to me... 311 tickets! smile

Lastly, if I photograph you for trade I'd expect you to do the honorable thing by keeping my watermark on the photo. Also, please refrain from any editing of my work, thus granting me the credit for my hours of photo processing. However, If you'd like to do your own editing, please ask me, (I'm a nice guy.) and then note that you processed the image, in the comment of the photo you re-edited. However, I am extremely flexible, and open-minded. If you let me know what kind of editing you need beforehand, I could probably help you out

I look forward to making art featuring you,

~Trav~

I'm originally from Central California, born and partially raised in Hollister, and Santa Cruz. After serving 5 years in Japan/Asia for the Navy, I decided to use that GI Bill for photography! I used to photograph landscapes and wildlife exclusively until my first semester, where I discovered a love for the studio and studio lighting. Now I’m hooked, and always looking for new ideas... I love it all! Fashion, Beauty, Glamour, Cosplay, Portraiture, Urban, Architecture. And of course Landscapes and wildlife. I don't regularly update this MM profile, but my full portfolio, along with a more in-depth explanation of my rates, are viewable by clicking the "Hougland Imagery" link at the top of the page.
