Motivated by the technical and artistic challenges of photography: it is is my passion and obsession. My work has appeared in print and has been sold as fine art.
I started in photography as a web developer in the NYC area shooting only for clients' websites who couldn't afford a real photographer; I quickly realized that my coding was good but my photos sucked. I guess they got what they paid for!! Well, I didn't want to suck at anything so I bought my first DSLR and began on the journey that has taken me here.
Since June of 2007 I live in San Jose and split my time as a web developer for Yahoo! and a freelance photographer; I began shooting models soon after I arrived.
Possessing an unapologetic appreciation of feminine beauty, I have worked with over 150 female models of all levels on paid, trade and fun/experimental projects in less than two years.
And now I am shooting men, too.
Each shoot is a collaborative opportunity to learn and to grow; I give 100% to every shoot from preparation to retouching and enjoy working with models with the same level of enthusiasm, no matter what their experience.
The San Jose / San Francisco Bay area is home, but I also travel to New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, Arizona, Las Vegas, and Southern California.

I shoot in a professional studio, my home/loft (both are in downtown San Jose), and on location.
I use professional cameras, lenses, lighting, and software and prefer to work with MUAs and stylists whenever possible.

chaperone policy:
I am flexible with chaperones/escorts and respect model's desire to be safe and comfortable but please note:
+ you should discuss your desire to bring a chaperone with me
before we shoot. If you show up with someone I didn't know was coming, that person will not be allowed to stay.
+ I do not permit boyfriends/fiances/husbands at photo shoots. They can drop you off and pick you up; I'll shake their hand, look them in the eye and guarantee that you'll be safe and respected, but before we begin working, they gotta go.

regarding TFP:
I enjoy working TFP when I have the time and am always willing to help new models start their portfolios, however I receive so many requests for TFP that I am now asking for a small fee of $50 to help cover my studio and other expenses.
+ you will get professionally retouched images ready for use in your portfolio within the time promised
+ I am now willing to provide low res versions with a large PROOF watermark. If you want a CD the same day, tell me at least one day prior to the shoot and be prepared to bring a blank disk with you.
NOTE: I don not provide models with RAW photos; unless you can provide me with a compelling reason to do so, do not expect RAW images
+ I require models to sign a release for all shoots

+ If we're shooting anything sexy or nude I will need a copy of your ID as proof of age. It is required of me by law.
