Born and raised in Delaware, Dana Jamison made her way cross country to Los Angeles, California at the age of 18. After going to the IMTA convention in LA, she signed with an agency for fashion week LA. Barbizon, her agency back in PA/DE, is who raised her from the tomboy she was (ok..still is) into a runway, print, and promotional model as well as an actress. She graduated Alexis I. DuPont in 2007 with distinguished honors, National Honor Society member, MVP and All-State lacrosse AND field hockey player, record holder since 2003 for every physical fitness test for girls and off by one with the guys, President of Sophomore and Junior classes, and many more accomplishments. She did 2007 consecutive sit-ups to even represent her class. She was in environmental action committee all 4 years as well as astronomy club, student council, and key club. As far as awards she got the “highschool academic all-star” award for athletics, 3rd runner up Miss Teen Delaware, Junior year academic award, numerous field hockey and lacrosse awards, and honors her entire life. She was once a competitive figure skater and competed at nationals, competitive cheerleader with Diamond Elite who placed 2nd at nationals, varsity softball freshman year, varsity soccer sophomore year, varsity swimming 2 years, diver freshman year, soccer player for Lightning Bolts of Hockessin that got 2nd place in the Ohio Cup, gymnast, young baseball player, horseback rider, lacrosse player 2 years as well as all-state, and field hockey all 4 years with 2 years being All-State all well as club player, on futures, and leading scorer of Delaware. Since 2003 she visited a nursing home as a volunteer in Hockessin every weekend and still is very close with the people that are there (NOT for community service). Senior year is when she started working at Barbizon modeling agency as a teacher and a receptionist. She traveled to numerous high schools and middle schools to lecture to groups on modeling, self confidence, and what its like to take on that kind of profession. When in IMTA’s modeling and acting competition she received over 40 callbacks from different agents, top 10 in every category, 4th place jeans wear, runner-up cold read, 2nd place commercial, honorable mention actress AND model of the year, and nominated for Ms. Barbizon 2008. Since then she has done tons of work for runway (Karla G, Betsey Johnson, University of Delaware fashion show and ad campaigns, Fashion Week LA, etc), print (websites, photographers sites, designers sites, magazines, etc), as well as lots of promotional work too. She appeared on the Tim Qualls Show as a runway model for a designer, interviewed on Chelsea Lately while at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, on Jimmy Kimmel Live during the MTV Movie Awards, and NBC 10’s Project Runway in Philadelphia. She competed on ABC’s Wipeout Show and ended up in 2nd place out of 24 contestants, and also filmed in the show Entourage. She was on MTV’s “Parental Control,” and was also a semi-finalist auditioning for Tyra Banks “Americas Next Top Model.” She has acted in a feature film called, “Let the Game Begin,” and that will be in theatres this 2009. She has been in music videos, two student films, a Pepsi commercial, and was just casted lead role in an Indie film. She filmed an episode on Wipeout again, and this “All-Star” episode will air August 5th, 2009. The premiere for this seasons Wipeout was also put on “Extra,” and you’ll see Dana there! Her favorite movie is Dumb and Dumber. She has been working now in Los Angeles at AdvanceLA, with Vance Peyton (producer and casting director), and is dedicated full time to acting school at AIDA in Hollywood. Besides her career, she has also tried to do things for others as well. She is now sponsoring a 9 year old boy named Felipe that lives in Brazil, through World Vision. She is a “Big sister,” which is with the Catholic Big Brother and Sister Foundation. At the moment Dana is trying to get a group together for Avons Breast Cancer Walk this September 12-13th, so if you’re interested please get in touch with her! The more people the better!
