There is a new project for which I am seeking models to coat something edible to create the look of a second skin or a garment. All shoots are done in my studio in Portsmouth, NH. Models must be comfortable with themselves, and must have reliable transportation.
For my publications, awards, and exhibition record please feel free to view my CV:
I am an art photographer, not a commercial photographer. All shoots are about creating artistic images, and as such are often fun and exploratory and collaborative, which is part of the process I enjoy.
I was recently awarded 3 Honorable Mention Awards at the International Photography Awards 2012 held by the Lucie Foundation in Los Angeles, CA.
I have recently been awarded the 2012 NH Charitable Fund's Artist Advancement Grant. My work was recently selected for annual Center Forward competition at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Ft. Collins, Colorado, and was also honored with a Juror's Prize. Other work has been featured in the international fine art magazine Eyemazing (winner of a Lucie award), and on Lenscratch, considered one of the 10 Photography-Related blogs you should be reading by Source Review, Wired.com, and InStyle Magazine. Work has been also been featured on Noovo (Spain), Ruby (Argentina), The Chronicle (Romania), Camera Obscura (Paris), and Animal New York. Work is forthcoming in The Opera (Munich).

"Working with Bear was a very fulfilling experience. The energy he provided made it very easy to tap into my creative wells, and his professional yet personable attitude put me at ease. The mood of the shoot shifted from intense and dramatic to funny, and everywhere in between. If you are a model looking for a great photographer with whom you can really explore yourself and be pushed to your creative limits by, you will have an amazing shoot with Bear."

I recently had the chance to work with Bear, and it was an ideal experience. Daring concept, professional setting, great communication, and a respectful process--everything you could want in a shoot. Working with him is an opportunity not to be missed.

"Working with Bear Kirkpatrick was a blast! From the moment we met I felt like I had known him forever. He was extremely kind and easygoing and very comfortable to talk with. The shoot we did together went really well. There were 3 other girls including myself and he made sure everyone got along and felt comfortable before photographing us. Not only that but we all had so much fun I didn't want it to end! I would work with Bear again without hesitation. Anytime, anywhere."

"Modeling for Bear Kirkpatrick was a pleasure. He is very professional and is a lot of fun to work with. He always made sure I was comfortable and at ease at each shoot and allowed for breaks when needed. I'd highly recommend Bear to any other model interested in working with him. Not only does he have amazing creative insight and produce beautiful work, he's just great a guy to work with and you can trust him 100%."
Fun, healing, catharsis, flow, empowerment: these are some of the things I think of when describing my experience modeling for Bear Kirkpatrick. As an artist, Bear is enthusiastic about his creations and there is no separation between the personal vision he holds, the respect he gives to me and the gifts I offer to him as an individual during the shoots. This has allowed a surrender of my inner animal sublimated to my outer woman. The shoots have been truly healing experiences, dances of necessary creative self-expression. He also has a great sense of humor, and the shoots are always fun! It’s been a pleasure and an honor to work with him.
