Former BET Reality TV Star Shares Relationship Disasters
Chuanda Mason from BET’s Hell Date Chronicles Love Life in New Collection of Memoirs
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Love hurts, or so the song says. It can often be so intense that it drives people to the brink – or over the edge – of insanity. In her entertaining new book, Love Made Me Crazy (published by AuthorHouse), actress and model Chuanda Mason shares her dating and relationship woes in the hopes that other young women will learn from her mistakes.
“Have you ever loved someone so much that you found yourself not thinking with your brain but constantly letting your heart make decisions that you would not ordinarily think twice about?” Mason writes. “Of course you have. On so many occasions I said to myself enough is enough but I still stayed because my heart would not let me walk away.”
Beginning with her toxic relationship at age 16 with a physically and verbally abusive older man, Love Made Me Crazy follows Mason through her 20s as she recounts several unhealthy relationships, both with her initial boyfriend and the married man she dated after that.
After her disastrous relationship with KC, a married military man, he leaves town without notice, and Mason moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. In the club one night, she met JC, the man who would prove to make her crazier in love than any of the others. She writes openly and candidly about their tumultuous relationship, the money she spent on him, the disrespect she endured, the physical abuse they both subjected one another to, and the dozens of times they broke up and got together again.
Now finally rid of JC, Mason is ready to move on again. She is hopeful that by sharing her stories, women in similar situations will realize that they are not alone and find the strength to move on to more fulfilling relationships. Full of self-effacing humor and real-life characters, Love Made Me Crazy is a relatable, entertaining read.
Chuanda Mason was born in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in Gambrills, MD in a military family. In 2006, after four years of modeling in the Maryland and Washington D.C. area, she embarked on an acting career. She is best known from working on BET’s popular dating show, “Hell Date”. She is a single mother of a 7-year-old son. Love Made Me Crazy is Mason’s first book.
