I am the Founder and Acting Director of ModelPhotographers.org. I welcome inquiries regarding membership.
Although I have photographed a variety of people from the woman on the street to the supermodel in her bedroom, I still hope to discover one woman through whom I can reveal all women.
☑ FROM MY MEMOIRS: Marilyn Monroe and I had the same bedroom, but not simultaneously. I lived there with a feminist girlfriend who later got a master's degree and went on to become a famous prostitute. Also, I have dated 1) the woman in whose home Vladimir Nabokov had written Lolita when she was a girl, 2) Girl, Interrupted Susanna Kaysen (who is not photogenic although in person she looks better than Winona Ryder, who played her in the movie)*, 3) models including a former Jethro Tull backup singer who does runway work for L'Oréal, and 4) a photographer who previously dated a friend of Mick Jagger and was Sigourney Weaver's roommate in boarding school.
* Kaysen has also written the book The Camera My Mother Gave Me.
☑ FROM MY CRITICS: The art critic Thomas Frick, formerly of LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), has stated "Unlike most work in this genre, the best of Supermodel Photographer's photographs exude a subtle but insistent atmosphere of human mystery and vulnerability. The punctum (the wounding, personally touching detail, as defined in Roland Barthes's Camera Lucida) is no longer visible. His penetrating vision locates it within the subject or outside the frame." As though that were not enough, Rush Rankin of KCAI (Kansas City Art Institute) has declared "The most erotic of Supermodel Photographer's pictures constitute literally the force of orgasm."
Response from members of Model Mayhem includes Kess M noting in a forum that I "rock" because of my "awesome captures of raw emotion", CM Wolett specifying that I get women to "'scream' through their eyes", and STUDIO2401 terming the genre "emotion as it comes".
My availability for photography is limited, as I have other work to do in a profession that is more glamorous. However, I am open to the possibility of testing models who will significantly enhance my portfolio and/or are referred to me by the Ford Models agency, and I am occasionally persuaded to make house calls.
