Supermodel Photographer

FROM MY MEMOIRS:  Marilyn Monroe and I had the same bedroom, but not simultaneously.  I lived there with a feminist girlfriend who later got a master's degree and went on to become a famous prostitute.  Also, I dated 1) the woman in whose home Vladimir Nabokov had written Lolita when she was a girl, 2) Girl, Interrupted Susanna Kaysen (who is not photogenic although in person she looks better than Winona Ryder, who played her in the movie)*, and 3) a photographer who previously dated a friend of Mick Jagger and was Sigourney Weaver's roommate in boarding school.  I have recited poetry to Caroline Kennedy.

* Kaysen has also written the book The Camera My Mother Gave Me.

FROM MY CRITICS:  Sven Birkerts has stated in Boston Review that the human condition is modeled "like a jacket" in my work.  Thomas Frick of LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) has described my photographs as "exquisitely obscure and off point".  MegaEssays.com has said of me that "we share the images he sees, becoming enriched by them, and knowing that we, of course, are not in need of escape".  Publishers Weekly has called me "a stark genius".  Rush Rankin of the Kansas City Art Institute has written "The most erotic of Supermodel Photographer's pictures constitute literally the force of orgasm."
