Expert makeup artist Nolan Robert is the winner of the new Lifetime reality competition TV series “Blush: The Search for the Next Great Makeup Artist.” Throughout the season, Nolan was competing for a contract as a professional artist with Max Factor, a $100,000 prize and the chance to be the makeup artist for an upcoming In Style magazine photo shoot. Nolan now has not only won the hearts of viewers across the nation as each week passed, but the confidence of the show’s judges that he is simply the best of the competition.
A Hawaiian native, Nolan began to gain his artistry skills at a young age. At the age of seven, Nolan Robert enrolled in the Academy of Arts in Honolulu and learned the fundamentals of art. Six years later, he moved to Costa Mesa, California where he continued practicing his skill through art classes given at his high school. High school also introduced Nolan to theater. He quickly joined his schools choir and drama department and starred in many of the schools musicals. In college, Nolan decided to join local dance classes and performed in many of their annual productions. These experiences exposed him to the art of makeup.
After college, Nolan was given the opportunity to dance for Disney. While dancing, he gained valuable knowledge about artistry in stage makeup. With a desire to grow in the entertainment industry, Nolan Robert moved to Los Angeles and worked as a background actor before moving to New York.  In between auditions, he freelanced as a makeup artist as way to make rent.  CONTACT _Con-3D23E91070 \c \s \l Nolan Robert lived in New York for a year before moving back to Southern California, where he landed a major role in a musical "The Heart of the Sun." Nolan played a character named "Lieutenant Cortez" and also did the makeup for the show on some of the characters. For an eighth month tour, Nolan worked as the Key Artist for the show. Without any formal training in makeup, he used his knowledge in arts to guide him.
Once the show was over, Nolan applied for a makeup artist position with M.A.C. Cosmetics. He worked with M.A.C. for 10 years, and reached numerous achievements. With expertise in blending, precision, creative, transformation and clean beauty, among many other talents within the art of makeup, he started as a retail artist, and worked his way up to Retail Manager, soon becoming a trainer and one of the most respected M.A.C. artists in Orange County.  While working for M.A.C., Nolan was able to work on many events for the company including store grand openings, celebrity-hosted events and master classes.
Prior to the show and at times through his relationship at M.A.C., Nolan worked for many fashion and charity events including: Mercedes Benz fashion week, Macy’s Annual Passport Charity Fashion Event, Dream Halloween hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis, and the Annual Splash/World’s Fair Charity Event, as well as a photo shoot for Paper Magazine called “The Last Supper” with photographer Mike Ruiz.
While working on these events, Nolan Robert was able to work on such well known celebrities as Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Liv Tyler, Carmen Electra, and America’s Next Top Model winners Yoanna House, Eva Pigford, and Jaslene Gonzales.
With hopes and dreams to attain, Nolan took a risk and decided to end his employment with M.A.C. in 2008. Nolan began to work with many photographers that helped him build his portfolio. This led to many opportunities that include working on a 10-page spread and cover for the Advocate Magazine called the “Naked Truth,” a “La Perla” shoot, a spec ad for Steve Madden, and working with Arthur Napiontek from “Pineapple Express” and Camile Velasco of “American Idol.”
Now, after winning the title of America’s best makeup artist and tragically losing his best friend and fellow “Blush” contestant Todd Homme all in the same week, Nolan shares, “It is bittersweet winning as this was one of the best and worst weeks of my life. The show was an incredible experience. Winning was a dream come true because after ten years in this industry, I have put so much into my craft. It has already done so much for my career and as great as that is, I know I couldn’t have done it without my best friend Todd by my side—his talent truly inspired me to dig deep and he will be missed.”
