Hello, my name is Patrick Cotillo, Jr. and I thank you for stopping by my page.
About me? OK….here goes….
I got into photography in the summer of 2005 after purchasing my first DSLR. My sole
intention was to photograph abandoned sites and buildings. There is just something
about the way a building looks after being beaten by “Mother Nature” for a couple of
years. The eroded concrete, peeling paint, rusted metal and vandalism for some
reason stops me in my tracks.
For the first two years there probably wasn’t a single soul in my pictures. I hated
taking pictures of people. Ha! If you told me then that I would be shooting models in
a few years I would have laughed in your face. Anyway, this all seemed to change
after I photographed my little niece’s daughter’s birthday party.
I actually enjoyed trying to capturing candid moments, as well as shooting a couple
of planned & posed portraits. The excitement only grew with retouching and
creatively processing the pictures. I received quite a bit of work from that one party.
And this was the foundation that has led me to where I am now.
Since then I have been exploring more aspects of photography, from fashion to
microstock. I continue to grow as I purchased more studio equipment and work with
more models. I think I will forever be in the developing stage, as I am constantly
seeking new ways to expand my skills as a photographer.
Though I enjoy basic portraiture style photos I am really looking to be move creative.
I have several concepts that I am looking to shoot, but I am certainly open to
collaborating on a project. Of course my passion is abandoned sites, so if you would
like to join me on that journey please send me a message.
Maybe it's just a sign of me getting old, but I prefer the "warm" contact. You know,
actually talking and or meeting a person before getting down to business. I think it
produces a bit more in the end result if we actually know and respect each other
before hand. But if not, I try to live "in the now" of just messaging and texting.
Thanks again for stopping by,
Pat
