I'm a photographer residing on beautiful Vancouver Island. My love of photography came at a young age when I was given my first Brownie camera at age 7. I learned darkroom techniques/developing in grade 5 and continued using manual & developing my own shots through high school. In college/uni years I didn't have as much time to dedicate to my hobby so a lot of the manual stuff I did fell to the wayside. I'm trained in darkroom developing but not formally trained in photography. It's something I've always loved so I learned as much as I could by myself. I'm a true DIY gal with a go-getter spirit.
I've been using digital for the past couple of years and have pretty much maxed out my point & shoot cameras. I'm currently using Canon Rebel XSi DSLR camera and am really looking forward to expanding my photography horizons. So far I've done 8 shoots with models using the DSLR and am loving it. I also have an old manual Canon SLR that I like to play with every so often. I love my old toys almost as much as new toys!
The past year I've been working on getting better with people and portraits. It's a bit of a learning curve since I was used to taking pics of still subjects like flowers, buildings, etc. I organize my own shoots on a TFCD basis year round and am always seeking new faces from all backgrounds and all body shapes. I love a challenge & especially love to photograph people that don't think they are photogenic. If you'd like to do a shoot with me feel free to contact me. I only work out of the Victoria, BC area at present time. *Commissioned shoots always take priority over TFCD shoots*
I can provide references from people I've worked with in the past if you need/want them.
I love putting a creative idea to work and challenging myself in the process. I love beautiful things as much as creepy things and am very open to new ideas for interesting & fun shoots. At my shoots I want my models to have fun while they get their photos done. There's almost always a playful element involved with my work. I feel if you haven't laughed at least once during a shoot with me, it hasn't been that great of a shoot.
I will not do shoots if models have a problem with me using the images from a shoot in my physical & internet portfolios and possibly in future photography shows. If you agree to do a TFCD shoot with me you must be aware that any of the images may be used for my port or future shows. There's no point for me to invest time in a free TFCD shoot if I can't use the images I take. If this makes you uneasy I'll do personal shoots on a payment basis, rates are negotiable depending on what you want done.
*Not on this site much due to their limited gallery space & size restraints on photo samples. I'm more active on Facebook

I'm in Van but am frequently in Victoria. If you need to shoot for a specific date and I have no other shoots scheduled I'd be perfectly willing to make a day trip of it.

Hi there! I'd love to work with you on some of those ideas you have, esp the human fairy theme.
