Who me bored? I'm on the other side of the world at the moment. I should be sleeping but I drank too much caffeine.
I totally understand "nothing in life is free". I've been working for longer than you've been alive. Sometimes what you pay is time itself, sometimes you pay with money, and often you pay with time and money. Artistic expression often costs everyone. They didn't call them "starving artists" for nothing. Indeed nothing wrong with wanting to be properly compensated.
What strikes me as odd, often in life you don't get what you pay for. This is true of products you buy and with collaborative art. Artistic quality is not a reflection of how much time or money you put into the project. Art is judged & appreciated in and of itself. A photograph of a leaf floating in a pool of water can be more artistic than a model + makeup artist + photographer collaboration.
I promise not to copy and paste anyone else on this thread :P it is your's and your's alone.

The word you are looking for is Testing "For test shoots to build a model's book, the model generally compensates the photographer, make-up artist, and stylists for their time at a special rate for testing" (encyclopedia online) The idea that a photographer should pay a model, is also an Internet phenomenon, should it too be abolished along with TFP / TFCD? To our debate regarding the proper use of acronyms you add: "when people hide behind pseudonyms, is it because they are embarrassed of their photography being associated with their 'good' name?"
The above isn't a counter argument but a personal attack. If you took my comments regarding your 'cute' use of TFP, personal I'm sorry that wasn't my intention. It was intended to help your image. TFP = Time for Print. Often now TFCD = Time for CD meaning jpg or other image format on a CD-R sometimes processed sometimes not. To change an acronym's meaning adds confusion. There is no need for a professional to be 'cute'. Obviously you are trying to say you pay models or as a model expect to be paid. Good for you.
