In this rapidly emerging Hip-hop industry, artists are expected to do much more than spit a hot 16. They now entertain movie scripts, design clothing lines, purchase liquor companies as well as oversee all of their business matters. What was once looked upon as an artist doing too much is now considered the norm. With that being said, there is a force steadily rising in the music game and he has his eyes set on being one of the best to ever do it. His name is Poppa Ls. Born Jaared Brown and raised in New York City, this charismatic kid with his Hollywood looks and undeniable charm was destined to make a major impact on the entertainment world. Over his young but impressionable teenage years, young Jaareds talent and presence has commanded the attention of supporters and cynics alike. But with all of his qualities, it is his demeanor that endears him to all that come in contact with him. At 15 years old, Poppa Ls. got his first taste of the entertainment world. Under the management of Major Models, he was hired to do a print ad for an urban clothing line. A couple of years later, opportunity knocked for a second time courtesy of his new agency Boss Models of New York, and he was hired for an Enyce national campaign. Still only in high school, Lite was juggling the modeling game and his love of b-ball. He excelled at both. He was All-City in both his junior and senior years at Manhattan Center High School, and by the time he graduated in 2000, in addition to walking the runways, he was gracing the pages of magazines such as Vibe, The Source and XXL. In the midst of all of this, he took an interest in rapping and started writing his autobiography lyrically. It wasnt long before Poppa Ls.s modeling career soared to unbelievable heights. Over the next few years, he was featured in ads for Versace, and walked the runway in a number of Sean John fashion shows. He also appeared in recording artist Ameries video for her debut single Why Dont We Fall In Love as well as a national Reebok commercial featuring perennial Pro Bowl football player, Ray Lewis. Once Poppa Ls. became successful in modeling, he turned his sights on honing his skill as a rap artist. Now at the tender age of 25, he is ready to flex his creative muscles. His experiences allow him to speak candidly and truthfully about survival and independence. Along with that, his diversity gives him the ability to deliver material for women to fall in love with and men to admire and respect. At present Lite has approximately one hundred recorded songs. As if his plate wasnt full enough, Poppa Ls., and his brother, Joe Blk, co-founded Immortal Ice Inc., a record label/casting company with a subsidiary, IMMOICE, that designs and produces a clothing line.
