I am sure you are wondering how I ended up in this industry. :-) Well, I was inspired by my cousin Mona (who was a top model in NY). After nagging my mother to death, I finally started modeling career at the tender age of 12. I immediately fell in love with it & I have been at it every since. I have done it all, from print to TV to manniquin to spokesmodel to promotional, but most of my experience is in runway. Runway is by far my favorite!
I also have 10 yrs of experience as a modeling instructor, 8 yrs of experience as a fashion show coordinator, & 5 yrs of experience as a talent agent. I'm also a trained hair stylist & make-up artist. I now conduct a series of model/actor workshops throughout the country (that includes a photo shoot & the option to purchase headshots or comp cards). FYI - My Advice ... Models, it's good to be on guard (especially in this industry). But be sure to present your guard with finese & professionalism. It seems as though alot of "models" think they know it all, and you don't. So when you come across someone new or that you haven't heard of in this industry, please do your homework. Research them before you bash them. Pissing of the wrong person could mean the end of your career in this industry (especailly in a city as small as Detroit). It really saddens me when I try to reach out to some of you model mayhemers as a favor to offer you legit paying modeling jobs & you respond with a condescending attitute. My advice to you is to be careful ... Cause you never know who you're talking to!
