I am a fantasy artist with 9 years experience as a free-lance illustrator in various art markets from d20 role-playing games, sketch cards to fantasy and pin-up artwork.

I am interested in commissioning local models for "drawing reference" - photo shoots. (FYI - I'm currently looking into alternate shooting locations till my basement is repaired) So if you know of a studio possibly near you that has reasonable hourly rental rates let me know. Models located close to Racine Wisconsin, there's MLP #1996 on Model Mayhem as a possible shooting location. For models located closer to Chicago, there's Iguanafoto MM# 144877 as another option.

I work with both clothed and nude models. I'll be using these reference photos for drawing and painting references only. The model has duel copyright and use of images for their portfolio. The type of theme(s) for the shoot i.e. fantasy, classic pin-up, implied nude, or full nude, can be discussed before the shoot. I have some swords and other items that can be used as props during the shoot. If new to the fantasy art or pin-up genre doing some research a head of time helps out greatly i.e. go to Borders or Barnes & Noble and check out artists like Gil Elvgren, Varga, Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, Luis Royo and Frank Frazetta. They all have books published that have some behind the scene features in their books as well. I have a huge library that is available the day of the shoot. The first half hour of the shoot is used for creative brain storming i.e. going through various art reference books and photo portfolios of my previous photo shoots with various models to see which direction the model is interested in going for the shoot.

My hourly rate for paying models can be negotiated. A model release will be signed before the shoot covering all the particulars of the shoot in regards to the use of the images. The model will recieve a copy of the model release and a cd copy of all images from the shoot. And if a photo image is turned into a finished illustration, the model will be supplied with 5-10  8"x10" SIGNED prints of the image (as long as the model's contact info remains current and up to date). And if it's for a game, a signed copy of the game as well.

Models must have photo ID to show proof of age (18+) the day of the shoot.

I'm on the clock, so I'm looking for the best model for each project while not going over budget. I still need to select an image from the photo set and turn it into a finished piece of artwork.
