Viola Ricci is a Baltimore based women's wear label headed by founder SAMM and fellow designer and partner Shira Renee. VR started as a shoe company but grew into a monster of a women's wear collection! "Our debut SS '09 women's wear collection "Dare" helped close Baltimore's first Fashion Week with an atomic blast!! We use sustainable ( recycled included ) as well as a few traditional textiles and we should be 100% sustainable by our SS, 2011 collection." says SAMM. At Baltimore's inaugural Fashion Week held in mid August 2008, VR along with over 30 other regional, national and international designers helped to generate funds for donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Maryland, The Sylvan Beach Foundation, Today’s Youth Center and HERO. Viola Ricci Couture's "Dare" collection's design duties were handled by Sugar Bear of Neasa-Leano Couture. Now the design and construction team behind VR's latest creations are handled by partner Shira Renee and SAMM himself. The 21st century is here.....and so is VR.
