I'm a freelance illustrator (Among others I do caricatures, cartoons, logos, tattoo designs and realistic portraits) and writer(fiction) and I use photography as an aid in my illustration (reference poses, photoshop manipulations etc) as well as a creative outlet in its own right. I'm on here like everyone to network...the more people I meet the better! I have a number of book ideas that require models for photographing and painting...so I'm also looking for models interested in unique projects (mostly of a mythological/historical slant). I'm offering tfcd for an initial meet/shoot (for which you'll get the photos and some artwork based on those photos) and then if I use you for a specific project I'm willing to pay a fair hourly rate...plus if any of these projects make profit on the other end, I think it only right that all who participate should get a share of that!
Outside of my mythology based books, I'm also currently enjoying doing realistic portraits, fashion model style art and caricatures. I am a photographer too, and am interested in the same areas with that as I am with my art (after all I prefer to draw and paint from a picture that I've taken rather than have to deal with any copyright headaches, you know how territorial photographers can be lol) but until I upgrade my camera unfortunately I'm in limbo on that one for now...
I'd say I'm still in the process of creating my own aesthetic and tend more towards a mix of retro pin up and older classical art styles. I'm not a big fan of the Maxim/FHM/bikini type shot which tends to be overtly sexual, I'm no prude, but in my images I prefer a playful sexiness or an ethereal style of beauty. What I aim to capture most in my photography and art is a sense of the mythic, of the archetypal and of the beauty of a world where creation and destruction are so finely balanced. Having said all that I'm also a big fan of the candid shot or the honest portrait...truth has a beauty all its own. Well enough of all that high falutin' stuff I'm also really looking forward to the Bruno movie!
