I'm a photographer in Austin, Texas who specializes in hand colored photographs. I'm primarily interested in working with models to create painterly images that are shown in art galleries and homes.
I draw inspiration from the great painters of the nineteenth century such as Jean-Léon Gérôme, John William Waterhouse, Ernest Meissonier and William-Adolphe Bouguereau. I create images based on themes from poetry, mythology and music.
I'm just finishing a coffee table book in a retro style reminiscent of the movie Moulin Rouge and incorporates styles from the Rococo to the Art Deco. I'm done with principle photography and now am assembling the text.
I'm now working on a fun gallery exhibit with photographers and models called Red Rope. You can guess what it's about- tied girls! Are you curious? It's very fun and super erotic. Yes, your boyfriend can come and help out! Would you like to be a part of it? Let me know!
And finally I have a new, super fun project! Are you a beautiful young woman who likes wearing just lingerie, maybe only stockings and heels? What could be more fun than posing with a handsome man in an elegant suit? Your boyfriend maybe?
My work has been shown in numerous art galleries and I have been the featured artist several times. In addition I curate the Models and Artists art gallery exhibit annually here in Austin. It's an exhibit that showcases the relationship between the models and artists. The focus is on the models and their work by different photographers and traditional artists.
Music- Check out Francis Cabrel and Jean-Jacques Goldman doing a wonderful version of an old Bob Dylan song! La fille du nord

I just discovered Vampire Weekend! I love their creativity and instrumentation:
Movies- I have to give homage to the brilliant Australian director Baz Luhrmann who created two of the most beautiful and radiant movies of all time- 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Moulin Rouge'. Another favorite movie that has always inspired me is 'Legend' directed by Ridley Scott and starring a young Tom Cruise and Mia Sara. Although not directly inspiring to my photography I love the movies of Hayao Miyazaki. Check them out if you get a chance.
I have an art history website called 'Orientalist Art of the Nineteeth Century: European painters in the Middle East' at:
When I'm not doing photography I'm teaching drum classes and performing with my wife, my partner in Art and Life, Z-Helene:
