"I miss the days when photographs also stole souls, being a photographer meant something then." - J S Walker

while my real website walker1812.com is being rebuilt by my agent the best way to reach me outside of modelmayhem is jesse@walker1812.com or 407.575.4648

I do very limited TFP and usually I will be the one to initiate that, there are exceptions for the truly exceptional and as you will read in my ramblings below, I do make them at times.

A Basic Model Development shoot suitable for comp cards and submissions to agencies starts at $250 and gets you a three (3) look shoot and five (5) full size edited files to use however you like which you chose from proofs from the entire shoot. This does not include a makeup artist or hair stylist.

As you can see from the quote above I quote myself and that should be a good introduction to me. I am Jesse Walker. I am Walker1812. I am me. I am a photographer. I can even say I am a professional photographer because I make my living from doing this.

If you don't make your living doing photography you are not a professional, you are an amateur. There is nothing wrong with being an amateur, it simply means you do it for love not money, that is all. I know many amateurs that are better than pros even.

So not to jump right into it but I am going to anyway. I realize that 90& of the shots on Model Mayhem all seem to be TFP and that is fine with me, but I still want to do something new and exciting to me. So if you want me to do what I normally charge good money to do it is best to offer me something that I normally don't get paid to do. I started off doing photography because I love to shoot, it's not that hard really if you entice me with something, great looks, great outfit, great concept.

I do get paid to do generic model development. So therefore, shooting you in a bikini on a beach isn't something new, no matter how good you look. Shooting you in a bikini while slaughtering a pig is something new, and probably slightly disturbing besides and maybe still not something I would want to do, but the simple act of suggesting that shot will garner my attention. It never hurts to ask and show me some of your creativity, photographers always want creative people around them somewhere.

Just because you lived in New York for a month 7 years ago does not make you a "NYC Photographer". If you were so big there with all the connections then why are you looking for work and shoots in a place like (insert crappy town that isn't New York City here). Skill is not transferable simply through geographic osmosis, just cause you have the coincidence of living there does not imbue you with a special super power unless there really is something special about the water in NY. I am not a New York photographer, I don't even want to live there, though I have gone there for work and then left again. I Didn't even stay for a show though, I see enough Disney here in Orlando.

My rates are reasonable, quite reasonable really, if you tell me someone else charges less though, well then you found a good deal maybe and should go shoot with them. Compare books though and see if they offer the same level of quality. There are better photographers out there than me (one or two I will admit) but trust me when I say they charge more.

Having said all that I can be bribed with things other than money, just so long as they don't violate two of my rules, don't feed or sleep with the models. You would be surprised how many photographers forget that or want to forget that....well no you probably won't be surprised if you are a model and have been online for more than 15 minutes.

Photography is about referrals and your reputation, if you don't have that you don't have anything. I don't do anything to endanger that and if you want to know more about me feel free to contact any of the models I have shot on MM.

Lastly since my profile seems to be as much rant as information, a word about escorts and I am generalizing here, but you don't go to work with your boyfriend do you? How many work places out there have a regular bring your significant other to work day policy? Heck most places don't even want you calling them from work, because they distract you from your work. So think about how we feel about you wanting to bring them to our job.

If you feel the need to bring an escort to a first time shoot with a photographer, that is fine, bring a girlfriend or a gay friend, or something, it is the first time you are meeting them and a lot of photographers work out of their houses, which can be creepy for people you don't know. Still pick someone who will sit back and relax and not distract you or break the concentration of the model or the photographer. Family members can be fine, but time and again boyfriends and the soon to be married always tend to distract in a negative way. Realize that most photographers feel this way and plan accordingly.

People are ones that I have worked with that are on Model Mayhem (that I know have accounts here at least, I don't usually ask if they do, but If you have one and I missed you, let me know.)

I provide this list so that you can contact multiple people I have worked with and feel a trifle more comfortable and leave the safety escort at home. You bring somebody and I am going to put them to work and they won't like it Holding reflectors can get tiring as well as helping carry my gear.
