There's nothing better than seeing an image in your mind, finding a model with the right kind of look, location, pose, etc, and making it happen with a great final image. I tend to go to great lengths to "get the shot."
Lately, I have been really enjoying doing "on-location" shoots - I especially like to find "urban decay" kinds of locations, juxtaposed with glamour.
I also have a studio in the Mission district in San Francisco. Always looking for interesting models to shoot there as well.

Enjoy your wanderings in the Eastern Sierra... this short one-day visit of mine reminded me why I haven't lost the 30-plus year long passion for that "over there" country, in its variety of settings and environments and subjects, its various lighting conditions and situations, its overriding captivating sense of a "place spirit" foundation for all the little things discovered are built upon, and draws the return again over time. This quick stay will be simply another 'scouting' trip for other pauses there this year.
