Amongst the beautiful sunsets, white sand beaches, magnificent skies, extravagant flowers, full moons, landscapes of mountains and rivers, lies a "complete silence". Neglected tunnels, urban infrastructures, bridges, industrial architecture, ruins, freeway under paths, urban fragments, decay, rust, urban culture, city streets and abandoned buildings all are unappreciated, ignored and neglected. My photographic vision is to give this "silence" a voice, and let the image speak on it's own.
Image Making is my purest form of self expression. I see it as a true art form and have the utmost respect for its history and culture. Before I could even start to dive into my newfound love of cinematography in 2005, I had to understand all aspects of Photography/Image Making. I became a sponge, observing every element in my environment visually. For the next year and a half I didn't pick up a camera. I read book after book, studied image after image, and observed every element of light. I began to develop a strong understanding and knowledge of the culture of image making through the digital and film realms. This is where I learned composition, framing, the technical aspects: "the relationship between ISO/ASA, Shutter Speed, and Aperture, lighting etc". I realized that I can direct the veiwers eyes to where, when and in what order to look at it. Upon that realization, I started to understand how all this relates to cinematography. And now, I am developing my skills and style in the world of motion pictures as a Cinematographer and Filmmaker.
